What photos have you taken recently? Not just motorcycle related, but any photo you think is cool.

Here are a couple of mine...

A brown bat got between the storm window and inner window of our kitchen (the top part of the storm window is open a bit). I wasn't sure if he could climb back up the windows to get to the open part (it's pretty narrow), so I opened the bottom of the storm window to allow it to fly away once dusk came. We watched near duck to see it wake up, yawn and stretch, and fly away.

It's been pretty hot here the last week or so, and this little guy came regularly to our bird bath to get a drink.

Meet Bijou. She's full grown (7lbs), part siamese, and full of personality! Bijou likes to sleep curled up on my arm at night. When I got home from having my prostate removed (a little over a month ago), she stayed by my side constantly (for the first few weeks, in fact). If she wasn't sleeping curled up on my arm, she could be found on the shelf above the couch (I slept on the couch for the first few weeks).

We get a lot of wild turkeys here. The most I've ever counted in one rafter (or flock) was 42. They looked like they were poised for an invasion! The rafter here was about half that, as I recall (please excuse the poor quality, the windows really need a good scrubbing!).

We had a couple young hawks hang around the yard for a while. They were hunting mice and voles, so far as I could tell.

Now it's you turn!!

Interesting photos Wordman! And a fun thread topic.

I love taking photos. Don’t have many nature photos. I like to look for interesting back drops, perspectives, views, etc. I could fill albums. I’ll just post some random stuff I’ve taken.

From my see through engine series.

Two of my favorite subjects: Dogs and Babies. That's my great granddaughter Izzy and her pal (and part-time walker) Fate. Izzy is 9 months old and well on her way to walking. Mom and Grandma are in BIG trouble when she masters that.:rolleyes:

We used to have a bird feeder out front and it attracted a LOT of birds. Unfortunately, it also attracted predators:

This feller (a Cooper's Hawk, I think) made lunch out of a bird that was having lunch at the feeder.

And the final straw:

That is literally 5 feet from our living room window. Yeah...uhhhhhh...NOPE! No more bird feeder!

My brother had a falconry permit. He had red tailed hawks I believe. When he lived at home he built a room in the corner of the garage for it. Perch in the middle at the height of the window. Don't ask me how but the damn thing coated the walls and ceiling with hawk sh!t. It was interesting watching him train birds in the back yard. When first training them they had a string attached. It was fun watching him climb trees to retrieve a bird if it got tangled in a branch. What was really fun to watch is when they would land on his head instead of his gloved hand. Their claws would draw blood. He did get them trained to where he could take them hunting. They would bring back rabbits and squirrels. Fifi's got buried.

Interesting. We have a feeder, but the hawks don't seem to bother the small birds. They seem more interested in the various rodents. Quite often I would see the small birds and the hawk in the same tree, with the hawk not bothering with the bird, but hunting rodents.

That think that's a red tail. This is a cooper's...

Downeaster, Norsk Elghund wit' yer granddaughter in the first pic? Sure looks it.

Nope, purebred Akita. Startling resemblance tho. Akitas were originally bred from several Northern breeds, wouldn't surprise me if there was some Elkhound in there.

Here's her half-brother and roomie, Crichton. Between them, Izzy fears for nothing!

Doug,
That photo of the Cassowary is one of my favorites. I can’t believe such a beautiful majestic bird as that just wandered into your property! Beautiful!
