What have you done to your XS today?

after pulling the exhaust studs racing up to the Adirondacks.
You are certainly full of great stories, Goldenboy.
And I imagine that you've got more ADK tales to tell.

If you're thinkin' of riding north again sometime, I'll meet you in Arkville and we'll ride up into the Catskills for the afternoon.
In fact, I'll be there tomorrow, cruising 23B.

Thanks for the offer, Dude. I hope to get on the road, next year. Enjoy your ride!

Went for an inspection, everything good except front brake pads! Pads should be in tomorrow, hopefully before the bad weather, looks like a soaker on Friday! Hopefully can get it inspected again on Saturday! That hurricane sure is gonna be close enough for us to get slammed with nasty weather!
I went for inspection (with my van) when the tickets went up to $75. The last time I got a ticket was 14 years previous and they were only $25. In Jersey, you can get all the speeding tickets you want on your bike and the insurance rates don't go up. Instead, they tack it on your car insurance. That's what I remember. Oh, also , I would catch hell from my old man. (He was my insurance man.) Lots of luck with Dorian.

You might recall that my 77D has had a very sluggish turnover with the E starter. Despite my battery showing a static voltage reading of 13v , and my charging system showing good readings, the starter was barely turning the engine over. So I figured it was a few years old and the battery had lost it’s cranking power. I ordered a new AGM battery.
Out with the old...in with the new. The new one is on the right, I had a little worry because the new battery is a few mm larger in a couple of the dimensions, but it turned out to be a non issue.

So let’s try a cold start shall we? Well at least as cold as it can be in a 110 degree garage! :yikes:

Works like butter baby! :pimp:

Hey all! It’s been a while since I’ve even browsed the forum- been busy moving into and getting settled into the new house and all. Had to spend the last hour catching up on the last few weeks posts. I’m about to order a new chain- the cheapo one I bought last year is toast! Just been riding every chance I get, which has been a couple times a week. Also, any mention of the 2020 calendar yet? I’m really stoked to try and get in this year...
EDIT- I found the Calendar thread and hope that a few of you fine gents might find your way over there and look over my nomination....

Love the color of your 77. .. besides the amazing shape it looks to be in. I had the exact same color, however my tank was rusted horribly inside.
The paint was holding it together. Will eventually paint match the new tank, but that is for another day.

Thanks! The bike came from the factory with the standard Maxi Maroon paint job. However before I bought it , it had been painted white with black pinstripes, that original tank is now hanging in my garage. I bought this black tank on eBay and then had Jim paint the side covers black to match. And I’ve gotta say, I really like the combo.
If you want to see an even better version of this, just look at the calendar nomination thread, at Mr Bultaco’s bike.
It’s a beauty!

Wow.. my eyes are old. I thought it was the blue/gold color.(Still looks good though!! :p )
That is what mine was before I had to retire it. It too is hanging in my garage.
I'll have to have a look at Mr. Bultaco's :)
I thought it was the stock blue/gold color scheme too. Didn't realize it until his reply to you

Fitting into to the recent 77D theme, I was speaking with a man last night who really fancied the idea of getting his favorite bike of yore, so I brought out the one I have been holding onto and put on my very best set of 77D tins and here we are.
Put some gas in it and it started right up.

Nice bike. Coincidently, just checked my email and Mike's has a whole bunch of seat covers available.
