Prepping Tank for Good Bones '78
This tank has been on a shelf for a while; PO had red coated it and installed new vacuum petcocks. I bought it reasonable and now am preparing it for my 78 standard that has vacuum spigots on the manifolds.
The red pin striping was a vinyl tape that left a persistent glue on the surface, but it is coming off. I plan to rattle can it silver metallic, same colour as the frame on the cafe.
Impatient to start spraying, but prep is the most important step.

No Drip Cafe
This morning I let the "new" bike stretch it's legs on my country block, about 17k. Nothing fell off and nothing leaked out. Quite pleased with the way it runs, pulls smoothly without hesitation and vibrates no more than my '76 runner.
Pleased the way it turned out.

Too Much Patina?
Tempted to just clear this, but still a bit old fashioned, so carried on with the rattle can plan......

Shade Tree Spray Booth
Tank fits on a piece of 7/8th dowel to spray the tunnel and petcock area, then pick it up and place it on 2 by 10 and spray the top.
No runs in the Rustoleum "dark steel" metallic. Will show off another day.
