I just got word that there was a bad batch of trigger plates and rotors on the xscharge electronic
ignition kits.FYI just got an email.

Wont have till end of next week, starting to wonder if im going to ever ride my bike this season Lol
Carma,s a bitch!! U rip off a customers product and basically shut him down. Thats what happens when
u outsource to china and theres no quality control. There was no directions with product, seriously!
Coils are EMGO junk, purchased some of there stuff in past. Everything is copied, and manufactured
around cost. No technical support, at least not in Canada. ok im done!

Boyer makes a pretty good system. Doesn't really cost any more than others. Plus it works well.

Read that plated can melt on Boyer.
I had a genuine PAMCO when it got hot it died. Pick your poison. None never have a fault.

Edit: Replaced PAMCO with a Boyer and bike runs fine.

On the Xs650 points housing there is a lip, or recess and where the Boyer plate stand offs sits it straddles that lip. This can cause the standoff to lean in when it is tightened down causing the plate to warp........If there was so much heat in the points housing that caused the plate to warp i would be concerned for the head and cam/rockers.

The solution is to make some longer standoffs with a step on the bottom, this takes up the extra length needed to sit squarely on the step down in the housing.......

Scroll down on the left.........click on "Tinnis project"...........Then click onto "Boyer Bransden Ignition"......... there are a couple of pics that show the newly made standoffs...

I just installed two and have over 15 working. So if you got a bike that overheads yes many things can get screwed up.
I always said I like Pete's stuff working on a CB 350 with a Pamco now. Mikes has some good and bad parts but I am sure they will get it fixed because MONEY COUNTS!

Anybody seen a fix to the xscharge ones? I mean it’s honestly just components that can be replaced. I’m just trying to ride my bike and nobody ever goes further than “oh it’s bad” which is kinda depressing for the people that bought it without knowing the entire story.

What does Mike’s a say. Any warranty on it?
Sometimes on the box you got it may have the original maker and you can contact them for spares. Looks like it was a copy of Pete’s and maybe just a couple parts changed to beat the copie rights. I gave up on those and now only use Boyer because it’s a real company and it has a phone number.

Does Boyer let you just buy the plate? That’s literally the only thing I need, I have the mechanical advance and I’m honestly just tired of throwing money at this bike

Also can somebody with the new style take a picture mine has the 2 diodes and it doesn’t even look like the one they sell now

Birdy yes you can buy parts for Boyer ignitions. Go to their website, I sent them an email and it was returned promptly, after that communication was slow. Eventually I rang and got the part sent.

Skull that is a good tip on the stand offs will use it as I have to make some other bits as well.
