need help with my '77 xs650 Not idling and blinkers stay solid

It's running on 1 cylinder, the right cylinder.
The left cylinder is dead, backfiring.

Get the left cylinder running, and the idle will skyrocket.

Need a running closeup vid of the points plate...
Does running on one cilinder has to do with shutting down after 10-20 seconds??

Tapping the back of your knuckles against the header pipes when first starting the bike will let you know right quick if she's running on one cylinder.

Yeah, the bike will usually stall if only running on one.

Can you look at the video that I have posted to see if that is the case, because I can hear a sound when it starts but don’t know what is it.

Here in Nj, have to spend an arm and a leg going to the shop.
Seems close to running, assume there is not a big concern like poor compression. You have some spark and some carbureation working already. You have Lots of support and info resources here. I doubt it will be expensive to get it going. I’d look at the spark plug caps / connection, plug leads etc .. all usual stuff .

Going back to post number one.
Bike ran fine untill you cleaned out the tank and replaced petcocks and inline filters.

Unless you broke out tools and started tweaking things I'd go to the left carb and make sure it's getting fuel and all passageways are clear. Sometimes, sometimes .....you can start her up and cover the air inlet with your hand, give her a couple of revs and pop your hand off while revving. Seeing if that will clear her out. Might get lucky, costs nothing unless it flame backfires in yer face.

After I cleaned the tank all was good, the bike was idling at 3k, I replaced the springs this is when all started, I remember I removed the coil and open the left side because I thought the springs were in left side, put the coil back and replaced the springs, closed and fired it up, the first time I fired I was hearing a noise tik-tik and the bike was still running, I turned off because got scared from the noise, and fired again, the noise from the engine was again and noticed it was smoking from the carbs, turned off again and the third time I turned on the bike still had the noise coming from the engine, and it smoked in the back of the carbs, and shut off. Before I was checking the exhaust and both was bringing air out the same way, didn’t noticed fire until last night(though it was cool).
If it has a dead cilinder shouldn’t the exhaust not bring any air out since the cilinder not working.
I might have screwed up something when I removed the spark plug but I don’t think so, didn’t do anything stupid, but never know.

And another thing is that I cannot rev it because it just shut down as soon as I touch the throttle.

Your dead cylinder will push air out.....the header on the non firing cylinder will be cold. Smoke coming out the exhaust could be vaporized un burnt fuel. Intermittent spark with points? I don't know how to play that game. I'll go to the back of the room now........
