:cool:Oooh ! Nice.
Even as a kid fixing my own bicycle (and friends) flats I figured out the Cool bikes have aluminum wheels. I upgraded. Its been a life long trend.
Kawasaki H1’s .. nope, steel wheels. Hodaka? Nope, steel wheels.

I’ve always been attracted to great wheels and tires. Still am.
74 CR125 and on
Someday maybe Borranis

I'll never forget that hot summer day in Houston, 1972, prepping a bike for a run at the drags. We noticed A.J. Foyt walking a new Kawasaki S2 350 Mach II triple to the line. He started it, and stood to the side, holding it while his son scampered out there and climbed aboard. He looked to be maybe 10-12 years old, could barely reach the pegs, much less the ground. A.J. held it up, the lights flashed, and the little guy zinged down the strip. He rode it back to a waiting dad, caught and held it while he climbed off. Unfortunately, from where I was at in the pits, I couldn't see or hear his time...

but I think the nickname is well deserved.
Sorry to here about your friends demise. A lot of people make the mistake of calling the H-2 the Widow maker when in fact it was the H-1 that received that title. The reason is that the H-2 was $600 more than the H-1 and most young married guys couldn't afford the extra money, so they bought the H-1 and consequently crashed and died on them. I had an H-1 back in the 80's and it was just as fast if not faster off the line as the H-2. The H-2 would overtake the H-1 at 3rd gear. Both were stupid fast for the limited handling they had.

"Bargain" looks like a "Who's Who" of catalog parts. I wonder if his ol' lady told him to get rid of it, so he put it up for sale at a "stupid" price? :umm:
