I'm thinking the single wall pipes are going to turn color, period?

Beautiful 75 end to end ! Rasputin
Or whatever UK model year that is
:umm:
Originally a USA bike.

Model year 00 Yama ? Double disc like the Euros. Does the speedo read MPH ? Or KPH ?
77 up seat ? What do you think it is ?
Mailman got your ears on ? I sent a garage art of a “77” Euro that reminded me of yours Rasputin
Very curious ..

Hmmmmm... With that tank (and the VIN), I'd hafta think it was a '75... :umm: Gorgeous!
Besides, blue (or yellow), or any color on the pipes just means you ride it.
Especially if it's covered with squashed bugs! :bike:

Yes 1975 bike. The front unsprung weight was added by the person I bought it from who also restored it. He had an issue with it not running right on both cylinders, after a long and protracted diagnosis he found that the inner pipe on one side had rusted and collapsed partially blocking the pipe. He had the Stainless pipes made by a firm called Tubeform in the UK. I can’t and won’t take any credit for its condition apart from the cleaning and riding. The 75UK bike did have twin discs but they were smaller in diameter, a friend of mine bought one new in 75, I was jealous.

Blue, Yellow, Brown, or Chrome. It’s all good.
The popular trend to wrap the pipes with ? IDK what that even is looks just plain bad on XS’s . Nice on top fuel dragsters but on XS’s all I see is a dented or rusted exhaust system underneath ?

Some folks like ugly motorcycles, some men like fat women. To each his own.

If this bike left the US like this, I'd say the forks are 1976 XS650C. That's the only one with iron calipers on the back of the forks.

Here is a trick I have been using for years with new pipes and about 75% success rate if the jets are close.
Tape off the first 6" of the outside of header pipe so you don't get paint on your new pipes and buy GOOD 2000 heat paint and spray the inside of the pipes. Roll
them around so you get paint on 12" or more of the inside of pipes from the front and let them dry. You may
laugh but I have done many chrome Harley pipes and no discolor.

I sprayed the inside of my pipes with 2k paint and they dried for about a week. I've put, all total, 100 miles on it. So far so good.
Thanks,
Thu
