No hurry. Just whenever....There was a place in Wickenburg (I think), along the highway, in a field, was full of old farm equipment. Tractors mostly. This was back in '02 or '03.

North Carolina...should be able to ride all year?
thought you not even get snow?
Not even close to the truth..It gets plenty cold here...and if you live in the mtns it is even colder.. We will get snow here..just not as soon as the folks in other places...but we will see some snow events about once or twice a year...but it isnt socked in winter for weeks at a time...

Aside from that and my blood has thinned out and i really do not like to be cold or ride in sub 40s..50s ok but lots of layers.....

Only real way to ride in cold weather is with some type of windshield, without it a losing battle...
...unless slow like my little cub...but my streetbike engine heat wiith full fairing and i fine unless snow or ice on road, to get rid of cabin fever for an hour or 2 at a time in winter...

Theres a property not far from here where the owners just collect old farm equipment and have alot of old time stuff..most of it is real ..I have wandered around there taking pics a few times.

no windscreens or fairings here..just a naked XS650...Even in the 60's i'm layering up...

I have the trails all to myself lots of winter because so many shy away from really fun outdoor winter days, because it "chilly" out, not me...i was at chicago bears game years ago with -85°f wind chill...i like it outside too much...i like riding way too much...

I used to love all winter sports..ice hockey..ice skating...and snow skiing... sledding as a kid and just playing out in the snow...arthritic now and just less tolerance for cold these days...

Back to those meter cables........Before Loctite was commonly known to us hillbillies, we used "gorilla snot". It was weatherstrip cement and when dried that yellow look gave it the name.....And it works too.

Years ago, as winter was settling in, a co-worker was talking about visiting friends, and was appalled, because "...they had a motorcycle in the living room!... :yikes: " My only thought was: yeah, it's nasty out. Where else would you put it? :umm: We're about to get some snow this week, but we're not done yet. There'll still be a few nice days left before the Ice Age... :wink2: Once winter comes, for real, it's over 'til almost May. We get about 150" of snow in these parts, sometimes 3 feet at a time, in a 24 hour period...

I'm from Long Island NY..I grew up there and winter was no stranger..same with living 35 yrs in NJ..although..About 10 years ago i got "cold and old". Since moving to NC I have become even less tolerant of cold weather..and i kick myself to think we could have moved back to southern Arizona instead of coming here...there must be a reason for that..but i havent figured it out yet...

Jax71224---3M #8001 that stuff kept all my off road/enduro bikes together---

Old Yeller! Water pump gaskets, Oil pan gaskets...Never again! Never again am I scraping that stuff off! I use old black now when I want something more permanent than the pyramids! I keep it at least 100 yards from the yama!

Yup. Weather man says we're gonna get 2" of slush (wet snow that won't stick to nuthin') tomorrow. There'll be cars off the road all over town from people that lose their minds with this crap. What are they gonna do when winter gets here? :wtf: The first casualties are SUVs and the "4-wheeler" crowd, who think they're immune to the laws of physics. Back when everybody only had rear-wheel drive cars, you learned by practicing your "figure eights" (donuts), so you knew how to drive sideways in a foot (or two, or three) of snow. I can't wait to count the number of "shipwrecks" from this first "snow event". Imagine that? Snow, in upstate New York, in November? Who Knew?
