...60 mile really nice paved loop, no straights, and elevation changes the whole ride...
plus another 20 or so miles 1st gear on smooth dirt roads too...

...small tall tale, pic above is the hiking trail map, but the road is twisty too going down so close enough!!!
...74 miles, forgot to check how much on dirt roads...4 hour trip...
...first 35 miles or so on 65mph road starting at 7:30am in 30°f, but behind fairing was toasty nice...
...smooth dirtroad stuff, even at 10,000 ft up was 50°f, and at 0-20 mph(mostly 0-5 mph), took jacket off and just wore long sleeve shirt...

I’m very sorry to hear about the loss of your friends daughter. Our lives can be so random, there’s no rhyme or reason some times.

I enjoyed your ride photos very much. I love all that high country stuff. You ride a lot of dirt roads on that heavy bike, that has to be a workout at times. Here in Arizona it’s not all desert and cactus, we also have some stunning high country and red rock mountains, they are just such a day long slog on the highways to get there. I’ll have to steel my courage some day and go face the semis and speeding yahoos to go there.

...somehow the snow in the many spots was not icy, with a thin top of sand and dirt from previous vehicle traffic, and it very steep in many places too...
...if icy impossible to go up or down , too ledgy and dangerous...
...can not believe i did not have to turn around but bike never slip once...
...rode around half the perimeter of mountain range and bisected them going thru geyser pass to get home was the ride loop...

...Zella, that girl was special, all you had to do was meet her once to see, we will all miss her great spirit...R.I.P.
...had handful of holiday meals with her and her parents, she had the nicest, most positive attitude i ever met...her goal to personally make the world a better place one day at a time, you could see all the areas she was succeeding where others not even try...the world may not have known her but they will greatly miss her...
