This bike is currently for sale on EBay. The guy made a really nice video walk around and then the second half is riding. The bike is almost all original with a one year only electric start! Sounds great!

He describes it well a rider not a show bike. Bob it could use some of your expertise. :geek:
Rear rim has been changed.

Now that is a good ad, the amount of effort seller expended reflects well on the supposed quality of the item offered.

Nothing like the sound of a triple!
(although I am partial to my FJ09 exhaust note)

Was it just my perception, or did that bike, not want to idle?

I think that would probably be the only thing I’d change on this nice original bike. Lace up an original size wheel and tire. The rest would simply be clean and polish. I loved my old Bonneville, but the T-160’s are even better.

Now that is a good ad,

Yeah I think that serves as a great example of how to make an ad. At the very least, he gives a good description with lots of well lit, high resolution photos and the video is an added bonus. I would have no qualms dealing with someone like that.

Is that a 3 cylinder? That is interesting the head has 4 exhaust pipes. What is the displacement on these triumphs?

When I'm dead an buried, have a Trident do a burnout over my grave. I promise you I'll still get a woody when I hear it. :smoke:

dammit Jim - you made me snort and the cat was so startled that she jumped off the mantle and landed right on top of the dog.

But yup, that is one really snazz bike - absolutely love that sound.

Just imagine if Triumph had concentrated on those triples and had implemented that electric start on all their bikes.....it would have cut Honda and the others off at the knees - at least for a few years.
Truly, that is one of the best adverts I’ve ever seen for one of the nicest British bikes I’ve ever seen.

:laugh2: My problem is I love so many of these old bikes, it seems like every week I’m in love with something else I see online. :geek:

That bike really is special though, I’ll be curious to see what it ends up going for. There are a couple other Tridents for sale on EBay. Asking $6,000 for the black one and $8,000 for the brown one that has the rare ray gun mufflers.

I'm not an expert by any means on Triumph triples. I was always thought the Triumph triple cylinders were vertical and the BSA triples angled forward a few degrees. Interesting.

That's true... with sole exception being this here T-160. I believe it's the only triumph triple where they canted the cylinders forward ala BSA.
