Electronic Ignition for xs650

for sure mr moto, Im still trying to figure out how to get my install video up... I lowered the resoulutuion right on the camera and reinstalled my points just so I could install the tyronics again lol, and film it, and it still wont upload, uhg

but yeah Im just fine with the mechanical advance for my bike or bikes, and you can actually customize the advance curve by changing springs or adding or removing weight to the weights... and someone correct me if im wrong, but I belive the mechanical advance curve is pretty agreasive for todays fuel.. and that it works well with modified engines 750cc or slightly higher compression.

Its just the maker/builder in me that wants to make stuff, that's the part of me that wants to make an e advancer.

mr moto Im excited to see what results you get when you attempt to use a single coil dual output

ok the install video is uploading to you tube as we speek, lower resolution and I also found it to be slightly faster to transfer it from the camera sd card to the computer then upload it to you tube its at 14 percent as I write this, maybe a couple of hours.

I know, its rediculas . Ive seen points plates on ebay for twice the price of these units.
but who doesn't have a points plate with screws in it that look like they've been chewed on by a alien with corrosive spit...oh wait wrong thread lol where am I again....
I have 1 tyronics ignition left at 75.00 and 7.65 shipping, If no one wants this one Im happy to keep it for another one of my xs bikes, if there is enuf interest I belive the guy will send me three more at this price.. Im feeling pretty proud of myself lol getting 6 of us the part for so cheep and being able to make a video explaining how to install it... I sent the tyronics another translated letter letting him know I was willing to re write the directions FOR English speaking country's, I didn't get a response. hope I didn't offend him. thank all of you for the support thru the process. it took 8 hours to upload

EDIT: if I get another three for members to purchase they will be "MODIFIED" by me. I will be engraving a 0 mark line, and a 2 and 4 degrees advanced mark and a 2 and 4 degrees retarded mark, then once you have completed your installation, you will make 1 mark inside the cam cover at the 0 location.. then without ever having the lower cover off you can adjust the timing a total of 8 degrees between before and after the fire location, meaning if you wish to experiment with the timing, all you do is remove the upper cover and make a change and ride, and feel for the best timing for your altitude of jetting or other modifications such as high compression or big bore systems or even a radical cam profile or head porting work, I will mark mine and post photos of it so you can see what im saying

not that im in it for the views by any means.... but im curious, when I watch my video it says no views,, kinda weird since I watched it at least twice

This was helpful in understanding what's inside the TCI box. Need to get a scope up and running. The one take away is that Yamaha and Kawasaki use a positive going pulse , Honda and Suzuki a negative pulse. The 650 TCI must be a negative pulse because I had to wire the pickup coil reversed to get it to work with the XJ700 TCI box. Moves my ghetto Banshee PMA/CDI project forward. Thanks for the link to this great info. I will try and post the Reader's Digest version of the info on the site when I finish wading through.

This has probably been covered already, but my winter project is restoring a 79 with points. I assume there is no issue with converting to single dual output coil if going with this Tyronics iggy?
