Gary , given your affection for Buells and your tendency to ride long distances, have you ever considered a Ulysses? I rode one at a bike show once and was very impressed with it, if a little tall for my short legs.

Been watching for one. o_O
There was a very nice one in Illinois last summer, but it sold 4 I pulled the trigger. Haven't ridden one. Think it's 08 up have the three bearing rear wheel. You can parts swap 'tween a couple models for height issues.
The green S3 already has bar risers and the seat/peg relationship ain't bad.

I really wasn’t looking for one, I just happened to be thinking about them. After posting that photo earlier, I looked in Phoenix Craigslist, huh? Whadya know.....$3,800. Less than 8000 miles.
Edit: just realized this is in a remote snow covered part of Northern Az.

Mailman, Buddy, I mean this in the most respectful, friendly way possible...but you suck.

Teens and blowing a freakin' gale here, the FJ is tucked away until at least April and possibly May/June.

Yeah man - its not nice tweakin' the noses of us cold-storage types with your "I was just out ridin' around on this chilly 70 deg. day" stuff!

Hey guys - I found something to tweak HIS nose - an recruiting advert for the USPS!

Snuck another few miles in and managed to stop for a pic. As I was getting set to leave a pickup came down this hill, slowed to crawl, and the driver gave me a thorough inspection as he made the agonizingly slow turn around me into his drive.

I'm getting a little crackle pop upon engine braking down these hills. Could be the temperature and/or elevation, dialed in my jetting back in AZ. 50° cooler and 1500' lower here. Could be the Seafoam hasn't fully cleaned out the pilots from the year of sitting. I think I'll get another few miles in tomorrow then pull and clean 'em for Spring.

You’ve got some pretty little two lane roads to explore in your new home Daniel! I hope we see you out and about more when the weather is favorable. :)

Oh, yes. A wonderful change. I definitely feel closer to home. I grew up on Long Island but spent many, many summers in the hills in Dude's neck of the woods along Rt 17. School up in Plattsburgh galavanting around the 'Dacks and Champlain valley. A few years down by G_Yam in South Central PA. A few more in New England. Just none of that on two wheels.

I've got 75 miles in since the rewire and moving here. Finally today feeling like I don't have to concentrate on each turn, brake, and shift change. Definitely having fun in 2nd through 4th. Haven't seen 5th at all yet today.

On a grocery run.

Could've got here on the four lane 60mph slab, but nah.

To where did you move? I missed it. I looks nice.

These bike can handle slab but, they are more home on the backroads. Looking good Daniel.

Hi azman,
back road riding is for fun but moving stuff in a hurry takes the slab. Back 'ome small packages move fastest via motorcycle courier.
The couriers ride their litre+ UJMs at 100mph keeping up with the motorway traffic. (everyone but the heavy trucks drives the motorway at 100 mph and you'll only get a ticket if you persistently lane change or drive a red sportscar)

Fred, Some decades back when I wore a lot of green, I had to ride the German Autobahn. My(then) new BMW R100RS maxed out at about 205k/125MPH. I was being passed like I was standing still! I fully understand when time and distance are at a premium on the slab we go!

A gathering of Cowboys......

I didn’t set out to take any photos today, I just wanted to enjoy riding on a nice crisp winter day. 9:00 AM and the morning was clear and sunny and a nice 45 degrees, I pulled on some thermals and hit the road. I didn’t even have a destination in mind , I just took off. Before I knew it I was in Wickenburg , just enjoying riding around this old West town.
Then I passed something on the side of the road that caught my eye. Freshly groomed rodeo arenas and huge pens filled with hundreds of steers. I could also see huge parking areas filling up with pickups pulling horse trailers and fifth wheel trailers.

I hit the brakes and turned around.....

I followed a pickup truck from Wyoming , pulling a horse trailer down a dirt road to a huge rodeo grounds.

They are gearing up for a big event running Friday, Saturday and Sunday. People were pulling in, one after the other from all the Western States with cowboy cultures, Wyoming, Montana, Texas, New Mexico, and Colorado were just a few that I saw. This one is going to be Team Roping and Barrel Racing , a qualifying event for a National championship. Arizona has a rich history of cattle ranching and rodeos, we are home to two of the worlds oldest rodeos, in Payson and Prescott. Wickenburg is no slouch in the Western history department either, cowboy culture is still very big in this town.

It’s still pretty quiet here right now, they’re just pulling in. But by tonight these horse stalls will be filled. There’s more not shown in this photo.

Is all he'll have to show
For all the years that he spent chasin'
This dream they call rodeo”
