Hey all,

I'm in the process of building my first xs650/motorcycle.
I bought HD fatboy wheels and the corresponding 3/4" axle. I am wondering what the proper procedure and materials are for making spacers to center the rear wheel on a TC Bros hardtail.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Let me know if you need anymore information.

Thanks guys!

Two posts , so I guess this did not happen......

He centered that wheel with precision measuring tools, aligned the sprockets and turned aluminum spacers to lock in the alignment. Or just started chucking 3/4" washers on the axle till it would would tighten and spin without clunking. Actually buy a sack of washers add and subtract till everything fits and lines up then either make spacers that match the dimensions or hand the dimensions to a machine shop to make them for you.

Doing a similar project on Ywain right now.

XS650 frame, engine, radian swingarm, GS500 wheel, sprocket carrier, brake, axle, custom sprocket that still needed machining to fit up. Progressive shocks with offset mounts. Been at it off and on for several daze, still more to go. Gotcha's abound.

Reminds me of those ridiculous Pentagram wheels I just had to have.:shootme: I`m going to take the easy way out and call Jerry Cheney Racing and order the predrilled 20mm center hole aluminium spacer stock, then cut it to length and call it done.

Other than the fact that the ID and OD's are not available in other sizes those prices almost make it hard to make it worth setting up the lath out in the shop to make your own!

I'm thinking he should machine up a selection of ID's and OD's and expand his offerings.

Old School Mike has done some custom spacers for me that are not listed. Same great value. Highly recommended.
