XS2 replacement valves

Has anyone tried the stainless steel intake and exhaust valves that are sold by Mikes XS ?
I have seen where the Mikexs valve heads break off . You'd be better off getting the Kibblewhite valves from Hoos Racing ,the valve head has improved
tulip shape for increase flow

Got all stainless valves on both my KZ1000 and XS650 and don't have any problems, stock exhaust valves on both these motors were stainless to start with.

AU club racer uses mikes stainless valves and reported a 5% increase in flow.
Doubt very much that these valves could ever be broken without a massive over rev
and collision with a piston.

I was at Hughs Handbuilt and saw first hand what damage MikesXS Valves can do internally when a valve head pops off and no the owner didn't over rev'ed it. You get what you pay for when buying cheap Taiwan engine parts from MikesXS. The guy was using Mikes big bore kit
with shell #1 cam with R&D springs. You want good valves get either KW, stock or Virago 700 or 750 valve and cutt'em down to stock dimensions Under cut valve will always show a slight increase is flow at lower lifts but in the upper lifts flow turbulence will occur at the stem due to the two different dimensions. You want to increase flow go with smaller 7mm stem

Yes they were using Mikes valves until they started blowing oil out the exhaust, as to why who knows, maybe clearance or cheap valve stem wear:umm:
They went back with another valve brand though, looks like Kibblewhite, which will flow more air due to cloning of the lilly valve head shape thanks to Mr Weeks

The valve started blowing oil ? ? sounds like guide or seat fitting or bad stem seals likely.
You criticize every part not made in the USA. How are them china sandwiches ?
You really should have a Harley.

When you build an engine you don't install inferior parts to save a few bucks cuz it,ll bite you in the ass. Bad setting of the valves, your joking right, that engine was put together by some very top notch Aussie builders who've built some very fast Xs's and the only reason why they used mikes valves cuz they were donated. Have you ever had a Miksxs valve in you hand,CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP. If you don't like my comments the best thing for you do is just hit the ignore button. Chineses sandwiches don't think so ,we buy our bread from a local bakery made in the USA with USA flour or we bake our bread.

Mikes stainless valves are top notch ( although I haven't seen any for about 8 years )
so i don't know if the new mikes owners are substituting something else ).
I sold kibblewhite parts in the late 70's and thought the quality was good but the price
was outrageous. I sold Vesrah, Manley for Z's ( made in Japan ) and tourmax Japan.
You and Griz are so opinionated that you should get together to sell the world's best of
everything XS. I am sure you guys could put everyone out of business. You would be
shocked to see how much is made in various countries and then stamped " made in Japan"
by the Japanese suppliers.

I have actually been to the factories and company head offices and make my judgements
based on sales and problems on thousands of pieces. No guesses or prejudice against
non American made stuff here.

Hi Mike!
Been a long time since we last chatted.
Not so easy being a perfect AND low cost supplier is it?

gggGary - Sorry I Don't know you or mike . where are you from ?
Don't know what you mean by perfect and low cost supplier, but if you think everyone
wants to pay high prices for so called superior usa products then I guess that's what
you do.
