Sci Fi

The "IBM" thing was dispelled in the sequel 2010 . It stands for Heuristic ALgorithmic computer (or as Wikipedia calls it "Heuristically Programmed Algorithmic computer"). Any similarities between the characters and persons living, dead, or artificial are purely coincidental.

Oh, getting back to Star Trek...has anyone checked out any of the "fan-made" Star Trek episodes? (Yeah, there is such a thing!) "Star Trek Continues" and "Star Trek: New Voyages". Both (early episodes are a little cheesey...) have awesome, authentic-looking sets, wardrobe, lighting, and background sound-tracks. Sure, it's different actors playing all the parts (but watch for cameos of original ST:TOS actors!), but the writing is easily as good as the original series. Next time you're stuck in the house, with nothing to do (we're in the middle of a "snow event"), check them out. You'll be quickly hooked!

has anyone mentioned "V" yet, I remember it was like a mini series or maybe weekly show, with the lizard people playing to be humans, and trying to take over,

OH I cant belive I forgot to mention it MY FAVORITE SCI FI of all time, "they live" with routy roddy piper as John Nadda.. if you guys haven't seen that one in a while watch it again, Pipper died a few years ago, he was the "PRO" wresler from here in my home of Portland, he had a auto shop right down the street from my moms house, and they had a wresling wring set up outside the shop where they would "practice there moves" ..any how he was quoted in an interview shortly before his death, and he said the movie "they live" was a documentary more than a fiction movie, he was referring to the powers that be and how they rule the masses, anyways love the movie

Ok Jim, you’ve got me hooked on YouTube’s “Dust” series of short sci if’s. Some weird stuff for sure!

Season 5 of The Expanse is in the can... or the hard drive... or however the hell they save 'em nowadays. :er:
Shohreh Aghdashloo has confirmed that they finished filming before this damn bug took over the world. Scuttlebutt is that Amazon might release it before the end of the year. I'm keeping an eye out for the first trailer. Stay tuned. :geek:
