Well I screwed up and fried my pamco 277 igntion. Have been looking for a replacement online and found the thread about pamcopete no longer providing ignition systems. If that is the case does anyone know where I can buy replacement parts / a new 277 ignition or have any recommendations? Thanks

I recently saw electronic ignition for rephased I think it was on hoose racing web site. Idk ab pamco parts. Someone else on here is sure to have more input for ya.

I saw the 277 Powerdynamo from Hoos Racing, however I'm having a hard time finding any reviews or threads or anyone who uses the 277 version. Does anyone have any info or experience with it?

Vape's (Powerdynamo) website says "The system is geared to a crankshaft with 277 or
270 degree offset, but still no tuning system to increase performance. The advance units contain the standard XS650 characteristics. The material has been made to fit the XS650 with the 277° or 270° crank, but there has not been any special adaptation to the modified engine characteristics. We know for sure that the system works in XS 277° or 270°, but we do not know whether optimal results are reached with it."

Seems like a lot of money to not know if it's going to work. I have an email into Gary at Hoos Racing as well. Again any info, is much appreciated.

take a meter and start measuring components. see if they measure open or shorted or far away from their value. anything that looks burned (or missing, e.g. exploded and gone), somebody else can measure and tell you the right value to replace it with. you can test a transistor (e.g. output transistor) with a meter too, though you usually need to lift two legs of it. might be able to fix it with $1.50 of parts from Radio Shack.

Got a 277 Powerdynamo (Vape) system in the mail from Hoos Racing. Should be here Friday... I don't think Hugh sells 277 ignitions. Thanks though.

Well I got the new Vape system installed yesterday. The instructions have a serious language barrier in regards to the translation to English but was able to work through it with Gary at Hoos Racing. One note for any future 277 Vape installers, figure out which direction your rephase was done before trying to install, it will save you some time, confusion, and a sprained ankle. The 277 instructions could lead you in the wrong direction if you arent careful, however the standard 360 vape instructions look to be straight forward. Wiring was super simple. The challenging part was mounting the coils and advance modules to an already modified and powdercoated frame. Any how I'll upload some photos later today as there arent many if any that I was able to find for the 277 setup.

Here are some photos: here the rotor is installed with the left cylinder at TDCC. The upper sensor is for the left cylinder. When you install, make sure to walk the motor around to verify the right cylinder at TDCC, and verify the timing mark lines up with the lower sensor, just the same as the left cylinder/sensor. The instructions will tell you the lower sensor is for the left cylinder, however in my case, that was not correct.

You will need to file the inside of the left side cover a little bit to not make contact with the sensors. It didnt take much to get clearance.

I was able to fit the coils and control modules under the tank while utilizing the same brackets and holes from my pamco set up. I moved the reg/rec to the outside of the battery tray, and per the instructions replaced my Li-ion battery. Now I need to find something to put in there! Hopefully this will be helpful to someone.

I had the coils off, the primary wires were (unknowingly) touching, and I turned the ignition on. I pulled the coils off because I lost spark from the left coil, so I was trying to track that issue down and created a whole new one!
