Does anyone know how the shipping cost is to get to the USA. Are they fair?they seem to have some nice products and they’re the only one that I’ve seen that stocks the 40mm amber reflectors for an XS2

Heiden Tuning have consumption taxes built into their prices............I'm sure i remember (member Flea mentioning) that they have to be told if your not a country that has those sort of taxes and they will take them off................If enough parts are bought, the postage can = the value of the taxes removed....................worth checking out

When you shop overseas dealers, shipping costs involve international agreements. One of my friends wanted a new XS1100 exhaust from South Africa. Shipping was more than the exhaust as I recall, making the exhaust far more expensive than the value of the bike. Fortunately, he had business in SA, so he was able to arrange to pick it up and carry it back. Between the US and China, it's far cheaper to ship than within the US. Not so much between the US and Southeast Asia. I don't have details (I'm not that interested), but do some shopping and it's easy enough to see.

My response is more to, "Are they fair?" As far as you and I are concerned, I have to say "NO". But, I'm not looking at the big picture.

Heiden tuning used to have some kind of cooperation with MikesXS, and a lot of the items offered were the same. So I would first of all double check with MikesXS. Also, it may be possible that some early XS parts like indicators, taillights, etc. were also used on the DS7 250 and the (Y)R5 350. So checking specialist vendors for those, like Economy Cycle and HVC Cycle may be worthwhile.
I have bought various parts from Heiden Tuning, and have only good experience with them. I would just email Heiden, and ask for a freight quote, and also inquire about deducting the Dutch sales tax for US customers.

Heiden tuning and xs650shop.de (Germany) worked with Mikes XS (Mike Lalonde)
to produce prototypes for parts. After Mike sold his business they cut off
Heiden and the 4 other xs guys thinking that they could pick up all that business but
not so easy. NEW Mikes owners have not developed anything and are just riding the
coat tails of what the original guys did.

been a while since bought anything but was if you are outside the eu you tell them before paying as only the eu has to pay vat which is built into the advertised price , heidens would then deduct the tax in exchange for free shipping (never got any small items so dont know how it goes there) .. good thing to remember when ordering from any eu country , most sellers wont tell you as they can pocket the 20% tax .. nice little bonus .. heidens is honest about it .. first time they told me ..now i think you may have to remind them .. been very happy with the items i bought none of which mikes xs stocked eg rephased racing cam , hyd clutch etc , $$ but good quality

....but hate speech ("yids") is beyond the pale. It's been reported.
I'm sensing a pattern here....

I've gotten parts for my Enfield and Triumph from places in the UK. They always deduct the VAT. Shipping is not cheap. My last order for my Triumph was $500 dollars worth of parts with $150 of shipping. They had what I wanted. As the old song goes " you rub your neck and write them a check". I will say on the last Triumph order I ordered it on Monday afternoon and had it Thursday afternoon.

GRIZ You might not like it but it is very true. Got that from the AU riders and they call it as it is.
What is a yid ? I am sorry , I forgot you are the overseer of all things 650 and politics.
What pattern ? Why don't you do a pole and see if riders want free speech or your view.
A lot of low people out there and please tell us what brought you to view them positively.

Well, I don't "do poles." Since your spelling appears otherwise pretty good, I'll take that as another slur. Apparently though, your understanding of free speech is somewhat lacking. Go to work at Boeing (for instance) and call someone a "raghead" or a "yit." I can promise you'll be shown the door.
This forum is a place for like minded people to share their knowledge and enjoyment of bikes in general and XS650 in particular. It's not a place to toss around racial and ethnic slurs. May I suggest 4chan or 8chan? You'll be much appreciated for you dislike of Middle Eastern people there.

I don't view the way Mike's XS does business positively at all. Both sets of successor owners persisted in Lalonde's practice of selling parts with known defects long after those defects have been identified, and the policy seems to be "If it ain't broke don't fix it, and if somebody will buy it, it ain't broke." That has nothing to do with the ethnicity or religion of the individuals in question.

Just so you know Mikes is still owned by HURST and company the new guys are
just fronting for him. I agree that they just want the profit. It would be useful if you
would point out to riders these " defective" items and what exactly is wrong.
An overall blanket condemnation of thousands of items does not help anyone as
i doubt that they have any idea of what's defective and what's not. It costs about the same
to produce a defective part as a correct one and they may be just trying to clear bad inventory
with profit being the only concern. There is no suppliers for most items and Yamaha stopped
making XS parts about 40 years ago. Sad to hear of some suppliers packing it in but that
is really driven by lack of business otherwise they would sell or have someone run the biz.
It's easy to condemn everything if you have never produced a part yourself and xs owners
do not have much choice in getting parts.

Interesting to get an insiders viewpoint here, (language aside) 650trader how were you connected to mikes?
