hey Mo do you live in an RV ? thats so cool . I've often thought about selling up and buying a bus and fitting it out to live in permanently. The only problem here in the UK is you cannot get permission to live in an RV on your own plot of land anywhere full time.

Sorry going off piste a bit so to keep the thread on track heres one of my neighbours property which had a very lucky escape when this gigantic tree blew over in the night.

lovely house in a great setting . Love the woods behind your house they must provide some welcome shelter from heat and wind and a home to plenty of birds .
You and your Brother are 'sitting pretty'' there max you'll miss all that lush vegetation if you move to a desert.
Thanks...I would gladly trade all these trees for Saguaro Cacti...I lived in the desert 15 yrs..its where my heart is...trees are over rated...;)
We will still need to have a few more trees cut down yet..we're not totally happy with what remains too close to the house.

Your garden is very pretty..all of our trees are forest trees so they're rather bland for color...Millions of acorns and Sweetgum balls...

thank you , its a typical postage stamp English garden which must look strange to you guys who have yards measured in acres but then our tiny cottage and garden would cost upwards of $400,000 today which would probably buy one a serious bit of real estate across the pond out in the sticks

I'm willing to bet you that all of those Saguaros were transplanted...that weakens them considerably...a Saguaro in the desert in its natural state would be less likey to crush a car..I have never ever seen them topple over in the wild...but in Sun City retirement communities I can see how vulnerable they would be...

Nearby State Park had crews cut a LOT of trees last fall. I saw folks working the remains so went and asked; any of the wood piled on the ground $10 a cord, ain't no one keeping score. Mostly branches over 6" and trunks, in 6 to 12' long pieces. Nice, drive up to the wood and cut, dry, little snow and mid 30's today so filled the van.

About 2/3 of a cord of elm, I towed the gas splitter along it being elm and all. About 3 miles from the house. All home and stacked in the racks. Lots of emerald ash borer here so ash getting cut down everywhere. A tree service was taking down ash trees right around the corner from me today. Got about 5 cord of ash from a neighbor last fall. Got a couple here will probably go next year. Racks filled and wood stacked 15' beyond them, LOL

A Birch tree and a Beech tree grow up along side each other. Eventually a sapling takes root between them.
The Birch tree sez "That's a Son of a Birch"
The Beech tree sez "Thats a Son of a Beech"
They argue for years, Son of a Beech, no Son of a Birch. Till one day they see a wood peck and ask him to pass judgement.
Wood pecker pecks and pecks. Then sez:
"Don't know if its a Son of a Birch or a Son of a Beech, but that's the best piece of Ash I've ever had my pecker in"
