What have you done to your XS today?

The rear signals are also running lights. Some also have brake lights in them. My prototype brackets if interested. image.jpegimage.jpeg

The Ol’ XS got a new agm battery and new set of brushes today! Next will be a new tach and cable ,and a center stand! Really like those blinkers Marlin!
Hey, I usually don't like to bash things, but the, almost stock, tach and speedo from Mikesxs', suck. The needle fell off the tach in 13 months, they replaced it, then about 8 months later the speedo needle fell off. They wouldn't replace it, and would not give me the name of the manufacturer either. There's gotta be an alternative. If you find one, let me know, please.

Yea I got a nice used one off of eBay for thirty, Hope it’s as nice as it was in the pics! Will be here next week!Housing is black but I’ll use my original chrome, no fade, rubber is good, and needle in tacked!

Thank you, Wulfbyte! I hope they can be seen in the Sun. Hey, was the outer brush worn a lot more than the inner brush?
Yes it was, about 1mm shorter! They were put on in May of last year, had over 1000 miles on them! Outer was 13mm and inner was 14mm,which are still good, I just wanted to put new ones in with the new battery! The brushes before them the outer was about 2mm shorter!

ive been watching this guy in inda, do all kinds of amazing engine BUILDS,, literaly cutting cases in 3rds and making two cylinder out of two 1 cyinders,

this video looks like a crank PHASE ...lol not rephrase but the birth of the original phase

Finished the scales and Sun. I'm thinking that's all I'll do until I get the right engraver. I think its a pneumatic hammer engraving machine. or something like that haha. Did my best with just 2 bits lol Do I fill in the scales with some flat black paint? or leave it shiny?

I also need to figure out if I want to put my clutch lever on my suicide shifter or get front foot pegs and shift like I would in a car ( what I'm leaning towards.)

they have a rally big engraver at harbor freight its like a foot long and 2 or 3 inches where you grip it, when I was at the leather shop getting supplies for seats this guy had the most ornate man purse with the gratfull dead skeleton and the rosses behind, I was amazed and asked how long it took, he said a few hours,, for me with my hand tools and a mallet it would be like 60 hours, I could tottaly tell it was done by a machine and not by hand onve he told me it was done with a engraver and he showed me photo of said engraver , any ways just an ide

today I adapted the rear Harley wheel, and used a 10 in Harley rotor it would work insdie the stock xs callpier, but I think im going to make a axle mount for another xs front caliper, and use another matching Harley 11.5 rotor, might look kinda cool from th reight side of the bike, same rotors , same calipers

Reliefs with some black would certainly make it stand out, like your piece Superjet has on his bike. As long as it doesn't hide too much of your killer work.[/Q

I want to right? But then I know the cover will get hot and the paint will get baked. Will this cause the paint to chip off easier? or more along harden it?, maybe make it stick to the metal better?
