So with Boeing having issues and washington gerring more expensive by the day, the wife and I are looking at moving to Oklahoma. I'm from the OKC area, and we would be near my family. I actually have 2 interviews down there the second week of february. So how those go will decide how soon we move. Due to this I have been busting my butt cleaning the garage, fixing the utility trailer I picked up, and starting to pack. It'll be a big move, but worth it in the long run. The trailer is much safer now though. I cut the reneck off the tongue and added diagonal braces.

Yeah. Thankfully we bought our house at the right time and have over 100k in equity. So now is the time to leave before boeing does a layoff and kills everything around here. It'll be a pain to move. But I'm clearing out stuff, and probably need to start taking the knee mill apart or sell it since I can't load it in 1 piece. I'm expecting a move to be 2 trips. My truck with the utility trailer, then fly back up and a uhaul for the rest.

Hopefully I'll have enough room to build a shop, that way vehicles can be parked inside out of the possible hail, and I can still work on stuff.

Big bonus is houses are much cheaper, pay won't be much lower and we should be debt free after moving. Which will make me feel much better, and maybe I'll be able to finish builds faster since there won't be so much going out to pay bills.

I remember back in the 60's when the 747 reached production status they laid off a bunch of engineers. There were billboards saying will the last person leaving Seattle please turn the lights off.

Yep, if the 737 max doesn't get ungrounded soon it's not going to be good. Doesn't matter how many times they say they aren't doing a layoff, when half the workforce is moved to everrett and most of the rest are cleaning buildings it can only last so long.

I'm from oklahoma. So I have family and friends there, plus winters don't get snowed in. And you know 9 months of riding weather is an added bonus.

One thing my wife and I agree on is getting out of Los Angeles and moving to North GA was one of the best decisions we ever made. Especially when it comes to raising kids. I'll never go back or live too close to a major city. Of course, it seems the city is busy moving closer to us so we may have to move again...

I'm busting my butt right now getting the house ready to list. Once I have a job lined up I'll be moved in under a month. Buying a new house will take a little longer, gotta wait for the current one to sell.

We're looking at the outskirts of OKC. Still kinda country and a little slower, but not a once a month trip to the store either.

Yeah. Week after next I'm flying down for a week for interviews. How that goes will decide how fast we move. Already talked to a realtor about selling our house and recomendations to help get the best price possible.

The trailer has its new axle now. 3500lb 4" drop axle, way heavier duty than what I pulled out. The axle it has was unknown load limit and extended at some point. All the work I am doing is overkill, but overkill is safety factor.

If it gets too busy for you in North Georgia, come on over to Mississippi. I need somebody to talk to.

Thanks guys, I borrowed my dad's vfr800 to get to the interview yesterday, and his truck for the one today. It's lightly snowing so a bike seemed like a bad idea today.

I think the first one went well and I'm about to go to the second one. Hopefully one of the gets me a jib offer qnd I can leave washington sooner rather than later.
