Hey Guys having a fun day here, soo took my bike to work today and as I pulled into the garage my whole bike caught on fire with me on it.

Now got it put out luckily after 10-15 seconds ablaze and it looks like only my carbs were shredded and my engine "seems" fine, gonna be in the process of taking apart my bike to assess damage but is there anything I should ultimately look for to see if my bike is shot entirely or possibly salvageable?

Will post pics later today but anyone whos dealt with bike fires do give some advice if you could

side pic for reference,

Your are lucky, fires get away so fast it is hard to believe.
The powder used in the extinguishers is pretty corrosive and gets everywhere. Get it off your bike as soon as you can. It would be worthwhile paying attention to the electrical connectors.
Then you need to address the reason why the fire started.

Depends, of course, on the extent of the damage. Doesn't look too bad from that one pic but closer inspection may uncover a few problems especially with the harness, which you may need to replace. You'd have to strip it down and check all rubber bits, (manifolds, o-rings grommets) and connectors. If it was running, you shouldn't have to remove the motor unless you need clear access to paint. Then sand, re-paint and rebuild. If you love the bike, it is probably worth doing. If it is a casual acquaintance, sell it, as is, to someone else and look for another one - it's only money and you have to ask yourself if you would be comfortable back on that particular bike. A fire like that at 80 km/hr would have lit you up like New Year's Eve and stopping safely would have been unlikely.
Let us know when you find the cause, it could be valuable info for us all.
Cheers

Wash it immediately. Post #3, he's right, it's corrosive. I tried to burn down my XS1100. Unbeknownst to me, the #4 carburetor had a broken float post. The dreaded PO had repaired it with JB Weld. That repair failed, the carburetor was flooding and then it backfired, setting the motorcycle on fire in the garage. My daughter was quick with the fire bottle and saved it.

Here's what I had to deal with:
Screwed up carburetor
Melted side cover
Melted airbox
Fire damaged wire harness

I got a replacement wire harness on eBay. XS11.com got me an airbox, side cover and hoses. The carburetor issue took time to sort. I ended up having the post welded on. That was 14 or 15 years ago and I'm still enjoying the bike today. I say fix it.

Best to blow off the extinguishing material with compressed air then after you get "ALL" of it off you can wash. Most of that stuff will etch everything when it gets wet.....
Also best not to breath that stuff either........

Hey guys to summarize the cause of damage its almost identical to @jetmechmarty my right carb flooded and leaked gas and my exhaust backfired causing the pooled gas beneath my carbs to light up. I did wash off the majority of the retardant there's some inside the carb intakes which I believe was shot through the carbs somehow after the uni filters burned off and and I gotta tear the engine down to clean it out proper.
