Hey guys back to work on the XS650. Hope everyone is doing well!
Model: 1980 XS650SG

I am rebuilding the engine since last yr I had issues with the cam shaft and I figure now is the time to just rebuild the engine to get it done right. I am looking to get a PMA System that would fit my model and wiring diagram the best. I have noticed that my bike is not charging enough and it had caused a loss of power and would drain my battery. If I get either of the options do I need to get rid of the Boyer Ignition system?

I am looking at two different options for PMA Systems and need suggestions on what would work best on my wiring diagram.

Option #1:
XS CHARGE PMA System with Electronic Ignition (1980-1984)

Option #2
Ultimate Electronic Ignition with E-Advancer/XSCharge PMA Package

I have attached the pictures of my wire diagram as well as the two options I am looking at. Any help would be amazing I am not to sure if either would even work on my bike.

Both options provide the XSCharge PMA. The first option comes with an electronic ignition and points advancer. The second option comes with an electronic ignition and an electronic advancer.

If you just want the PMA dimecity offers it on it's own.

You can keep your Boyer system and just install the PMA

Awesome thank you for the advice, can I still run a battery and a push button start with just the PMA and Boyer system?
