Gents,
On my -77, I have these pipes, purchased from Jerry Heiden, but also sold by MikesXS:

They work fine, but the fit is not very good. Viewed from forward, the RH pipe runs almost vertical, while the LH (alternator side) pipe points a bit outwards at the bottom as well. Funny enough, the mufflers end up symmetrical anyway. But my worst gripe with these pipes is the lower bend, it is too sharp, or differently put, has too small a bending radius to look "right" . I think that the bend radius should follow the engine cover radius better.
Anyway, I had a look at the Hoos racing website, and they also have a fairly sharp lower bend, while the upper bend is a nice, big radius. And Hoos only offers 1 3/4" pipes, while I prefer 1 1/2", or maybe 40 mm as an absolute maximum.
Any suggestions of where I can find headers that fit my requirements?

Thanks for the review on those pipes, I was considering buying a set from Heiden myself due to the cheap price but think I will give them a miss now. The other option I was considering was from a guy in England called Anthony Beynon. Hes a regular on the xs650 uk facebook pages and also has his own business page on facebook called "pipes and stuff", seems to have a good reputation and his prices are very good. I've messaged him a couple of times and he can do stainless headers starting from around £150.
