Sold all my xs stuff in 08-09. I could lie and say I was doing the dad thing but really was just moving a lot and got burned out on moving it, idiots on the roads, and police cracking down on loud bikes and minimalistic and creative tag displays. Literally didn't look back after that.

Got the itch to chop again but while the amount of aftermarket stuff for the xs has exploded the number of 300-500 buck complete limps-but-doesnt-run xs have dwindled during the last decade. I didn't forsee xs getting pricey.

I started looking at newer bikes. EFI, ABS, keyless fob ignitions. Yuck. I'm surprised there isn't a fat Bob with a tablet built into the tank.

So basically it's maybe luck out on a affordable xs, a late 90s early 2000s Sportster, Yamaha xvs650, or Honda Shadow spirit 750. Did I miss an option? I hate Honda electrics and the vstar 650 is shaft drive, more yuck. So once the carbureted sportsters are gone there will be little to chop, at least legally unless you like fat wiring harnesses and can program EFI.

So, down the road you cruise your EFI bike to the local Cafe for a meatless burger and afterwards tear it up at your local swillhole (no smoking and please can the band turn down so I can look at my cat photos??!!!), and then finish off the night making robot love at a data center that doubles as a Droid brothel. And please, no smiling it messes with our facial recognition services!

When I quit, bikers still listened to blues. When I came back they all listened to butt rock! What the heck!?!? Lotsa changes...
