Engine mount torque

My manual and reference to the "torque" threads on the Forum cite 65ft/lb on the long bottom engine mount. That seems very high. As I'm tightening it up, the hair starts standing up on the back of my neck - not much on the top of my head unfortunately, but it feels like she's going to blow. Any advice?

10mm arent they? std torque on 8.8 10mm is 33ftlbs.

That's what I would have thought but my reference and online manuals both say 65ft/lb. Go figure? I've done 35 and I'll leave it there and check again when it's done some miles. Too scared to tighten it any further.

Yamaha changed the value on that long bolt, raised it significantly, and too much in my opinion. Before that, it was in the mid 30s to about 40 ft/lbs. I don't go much more than 40 on it. Like you, I'm not sure it would take the 65.
