Just out of curiosity - Airplane Guys

This must be a airplane day. This morning at breakfast I tried to explain right and left hand patterns to Glenda. It would have been much easier to just go out in the parking lot and shoot myself in the foot. My faith in aeronautics was restored when I got home and saw this on the VFT site.

Anyone who served in the Royal Air Force will all be able to spot the error right away.

Procedures:
This photo is absolutely incredible... it should be a poster for what
not to do.

But can you tell what's wrong with it?

Yup, I guess you spotted it, too.

Never, ever try to prop-start an aircraft without
chocking the wheels!

I am sure that caught your
eye right away like it did mine.

The left edge of the wheel appears to go vertically straight to the ground when really there should be a curve from the tire at ground level. This indicates there is something in front of the tire other than someones beautiful young daughter.

Perhaps this whole chock thing is just bit of a distraction from the white stripes on the prop blades??

I should also point out that the young lady (I am presuming that person in the photo is a woman...;)) should have her hair tied back.

Otherwise, she should certainly not be near moving machinery.

FWIW, I believe this WE is the USAF Heritage Flight Training. Usually about 4-5 P-51's, a P-38 and a P-47 show up, an A-1 with a couple of F-86's train with F-15's,16's,22's and 35's with their A-10C brothers. I wish the QF-4 still showed up but not since '16 when the QF-16 took it's place. Few things sound better than a Merlin at full growl or the lumbering R-2800 or 3350. I gotta admit, I feel sorry for the residents around Luke AFB with the F-35 training ramping up. They make a F-111 sound quiet! I worked them and I thought they were LOUD! I was looking forward to a long ride on the SG but this comes around once a year soo....I guess not a long ride but, a shorter local one....maybe. Oh yeah, this happens over my yard. I will take pics and video this year.

MaxPete, I like Buffalo! I used to watch their TV Series every week when it was on. Thanks for posting.

I guess they have a new YouTube channel called "Plane Savers" - I have already subscribed. I'll bet it is good fun!

Pete

A Mustang and a Thunderbolt flew in this morning about 1030. Now if a P-38 shows up we'll have Lightning and Thunderbolt! Maybe one will show up later.

....a Windsor city bus just went by and splashed the livin' daylights out of me with slush and freezing rain....

I guess you win Azman.
