I wonder if Marlin Perkins is looking for a new sidekick?

Great-granddaughter Izzy hand feeding The Wild and Vicious Canis Lupus Familiaris.

My all-white Akita hit 100 lbs by the time he hit 8 months old.
And didn't stop.
I kept feeding, he kept eating.
When he hit 1 year old, he could stand on his hindquarters and tower over me.
I recall measuring his head, about 18" from nose to back of head.
Somewhere I have an old pic of 2 neighborhood kids riding him like a horse.
When he hit 180 lbs, had to give him up to some country folks.
A yard dog. He wanted to come inside when I was at work.
Found him in the house.
He had eaten clean thru a solid 2" thick back door into the garage,
and thru the door into the kitchen.

Got him when he was just a cute lil' pup.
A fluffy white snowball.

With huge feet.

Later, I was told that the feet were the sign of something big...

At work, if a trainee decided they didn't need to be a part of the activity, I'd say to them sarcastically "...while Jim wrestles the dangerous alligator, I'll sit here in the Land Rover, have another cup of coffee, and sell you some insurance... You know, you could be out here helping me..." They'd get the message, but usually ask who "Jim" was...

Yup. Even as a kid I wondered about that...
from what i can remember it got more as marlin got older until it got kind of ridiculous. you know, the first time i was in omaha, about ten years ago, i glanced up and there was that mutual of omaha building they showed during each show and it felt kind of iconic because of the show

Hope he likes water....couldn't magine trying ro give that dog a bath after he decides to go tromping through some mud or rolling in what dogs love to roll in.

Interesting name. Knowing you're a sci-fi fan like me..... Farscape?

Close. Daughter had the hots for that character in Farscape.

I'm a sci-fi fan but Farscape just wasn't my cuppa. The Expanse on Amazon Prime is more my kind of thing.

He LOVES water. Especially if it's in a stinky, muddy ditch...

He must be pretty good about baths, he's always clean as a whistle when I see him and I haven't heard any bitching about him in that respect.

DANG Mailman! Your pup could be related to my Chico! They are almost twins. He's 15yo now and grumpy as hell sometimes. Except to me.
