Are the tank badges new?

They were on the tank for a few months while I was restoring the originals. I used the stock screws to attach them so I didn't need to uncover the 3M tape that comes on the badges from Mikes . I guess they include this for tanks that weren't standard with the mounting brackets so you can use them either way.
