Oh yikes, soccer moms & side cars now. Sorry, even though I'm wiring up an XS , I'm clearly in the wrong thread today.. and the Corona virus thread totally sucks so I better just sign off and play with my own bike now.

gaining the attention of cell-phone yakking SUV driving soccer moms is why you need the loudest horn you can buy.
And when as old as me you are a sidecar also you will have.
AIR Horn ! YES ! But.. the compressor is ..ugh lee..... and of course... a relay.... I discovered why you need.. relay.
I mounted the air horn with the stock horn mount. bent to point the air horn down.. if you mount it straight.. it's hit the fender under hard braking…. the compressor... I made straps and mounted it under the battery box.. out of sight.. tidy…. running the air hose was simple.... I wired the compressor to the horn button.. and started the bike... hit the horn button and discovered the reason for.....relay…. voltage is one thing... amperage .. is another... the second I hit the horn button the wire for the horn turned bright as the sun for a Nano second.. the entire wire burnt....toast.. to a crisp... in a second.... smoke bellowed the entire length…. Dang ! all that was left was a few strands of wire....
This set my air horn back a coupe of days.... take off the tank... pull the switch.... remove remnants of ...burnt.... I got a starter relay from a 350 Honda... it fit easily inside the tool box which was close enough for the heavy cables to the compressor and the battery. Got it all back together..hit button... Serious HORN.... now I can wake up those inattentive four wheelers..... ( ah. memories from over 20yrs ago)….
