Just want to rant for a minute

The triumph triples get up and move very well. I test rode a daytona 675, take off from a light and you were breaking every speed limit in the US within a block and just thinking about 2nd gear.

Reliable bikes too. I wanted a street triple for a long time and ended up with a tiger 800xc. It's got 103k miles and counting. I gotta do the clutch soon, and at the 100k service I replaced the cam chain(needed it) tensioner, and sliders(didn't need them but I already had them) when I did the valve adjustment.

Have fun and keep the front wheel down!

Good news, I don't know what I'm doing and that's why the gauges weren't resetting. Actually finding and reading an owners manual PDF and I got the button pressing sequence down and got the clock set and everything reset so that isn't broken and that's fantastic. The only thing that doesn't work now is the horn and I just don't care about that.

Try spraying some contact cleaner in the button. Mine stopped working on the tiger, sprayed the cleaner in there and it started working again.

919 is a tried and true bike, My neighbor/club mate has been beating one like a rented mule for 10 years and has never disappointed! Such a good bike! What else from a Honda. I have a '09 Street Triple I got from our local scratch and dent insurance auction motorcycle shop for $1200, replaced the bull$%#& ignition switch that (the dreaded tweeker thief) PO had put in...Take half the wires and twist them together, take the other half and twist them together and put on a 2 post switch!...with an OEM Triumph unit, good as gold. My first 'modern' fuel injected bike. Love that bike!
