What have you done to your XS today?

Btw, no rush at all to get my XS ready. Forecast snow and/or sleet from midnight to Tuesday. Like we don't have enough of that white stuff from winter, as you can see in my pic...... And it will stay just above freezing until the 19th at least...
Launching the boat will have to wait as well.

Not to me, I still think they're the best option. Many of the motorcycle specific ones are very thin and don't last long, they also all cost more. I've been using the truck shock ones on various bikes for over 20 years now, never had any wear out.

Tiesco, I've found 8 bellows on the fork gaiters to work and fit well .....

I noticed you started with 10, then cut it down to 9. With the bike off the centerstand and the forks compressed a little, I think you'll see removing another bellow could be called for. On my '78, after I added a fork brace, I had to remove one more so now that set is down to 7 bellows .....

You're pretty observant there. I will cut another bellow off if I take the forks off again soon.

What kind of mileage do you reckon I can expect to get from these here gaiters 5Ttwins?

It's actually proving to be a real challenge to find a 90-degree junction block for the MC. So out of frustration, lack of money, and impatience I made my own using the little L piece that bolts to the triple tree. I would have started from scratch but I didnt have a 10mm X 1.25mm bottoming tap. Function usually takes priority over form in the things I fabricate. Its probably one if the more ugly things I've made. My head just isn't quite on straight today.

Now there's some free play in the cable

Ever since the website has been re-hosted, when I come to the forum I have to reload the page because it is in some weird format. Is anyone else having this problem? I should note I am always logging in using my iphone, but have never encountered this problem.

I've noticed the different font, but only on my phone and it fixes it automatically. I'll be typing a post and it'll go back to the regular font randomly.

I had issues with having to log in every time i visited the site on my iphone, even if I just left the site briefly. My laptop worked fine though. What I finally figured out to do was to download the Firefox browser app on my phone and access it through that instead of using the Safari app installed on my device.

As we were locked down I decided to fix my grumbling starter. Ordered a clutch basket locking tool online and checked I had the tools I would need. 27mm socket for the clutch basket nut? Check.

But once it was all apart I found the nut was 29mm. Seems that the part number is the same whether it is 27mm, 28mm, 29mm. Who knew? Is the year any indicator of what you will find?

So I ordered a socket online and decide to polish a few items while I wait for it to arrive.

The Motad two into one which was rusty came up an absolute treat with some patience and Solvol Autosol. It helps that is sunny here. So I was able to sit in the garden and listen to Pink Floyd.
