Hello all,
So my bike was running just fine all throughout last year, but over the winter I did a whole bunch to it, and not when I come to fire it up, the carbs aren't spitting out any gas. I have spark, and there's gas going to the bowls, but somehow it's not squirting out of the carb? I cleaned the bodies and parts (taken apart) in carb cleaning solution, sprayed all passage ways and such with carb clean, and still nothing. Maybe it's something I over looked or a step I missed? I know the carbs are back together properly, just not sure why it won't spit out gas.

What year/type of carb? If BS34s check the small screen attached to float needle seat. They can get clogged especially if you don't have an inline filter, or if the T that feeds fuel is old and breaking down. Don't ask how I know.

The quick and easy way.

Remove the mixture adjusting screws and squirt some carb cleaner in the hole. Use the little tube that came with the can and get it in there. Let sit, squirt again. Put the screws back in and try to start. Hopefully that cleared the idle jets.

Almost always a funky running bike, after a winter of sitting, is due to the idle jets being plugged but my XS really fooled me last year. The gas got enough moisture in it that I found phase separation. I really should have drained the tank but being the cleverest (the second part is right) and laziest guy in the room, I just filled the tank with new gas and gave the bike a shake. The extra alcohol in the new gas did the trick and pulled the water back into solution. Went for a nice ride.

Thanks for the response! Did exactly that and nothing still. I don’t know why this is giving me a hard time when it was running a few months ago. Any other suggestions?

I’m getting gas to the bowls, which is why this is so strange. Not to mention I put a new petcock/filter/clear fuel lines and I can see gas flowing
