Rear shock preload adjustment

Can someone point me in the right direction of increasing the preload and where to put a spanner or something?? I dont see where either would go to make the adjustment.

Never seen a spanner with a circular end to fit in that circle

The tool only needs to catch the hole to spin the body and adjust the preload. The tool ggg showed is correct. In a pinch a pair of Channel locks with a rag in the jaws will do.

Sometimes it is easier with the bike on the centerstand to take any load off.
 
You don't need a spanner for that type of shock. I use a small screwdriver or a hex key.
 
Yeah man that’s what I thought. But where in the hell do you put the small screwdriver or the hex key.
 
Unload the weight as pckopp mentioned,
then you can grab the chrome adjuster with your hand (with heavy leather gloves) and twist it into the next notch.
Or use channel lock pliers, as mentioned.

You are right. I took a closer look and the boss is non existent. WTF? What brand of shock?
