The instructions for my Electricxworld PMA say to remove the mechanical advance and points as its CDI. The trigger for the cdi is a crank trigger.
Have i got this right? (i think so but i'm always second guessing when I do something for the first time) or should I leave the Rod in place/ Thanks In advance.Tin maN.

Yes, that looks correct. You can't leave the advance rod in there once you remove those other items because there would be nothing left to hold it in place, so it has to be removed too.

Any chance you'd sell the advance unit and the old points (if they've got any life left in them) for cheap? some bozo welded the slot on the advance plate I've got and while it technically works, it looks super wonky and I'm worried it'll wear the advance rod in strange ways. Also, never hurts to have a spare set of points in the tool bag for long trips.
