What have you done to your XS today?

Mounted what I believe was a virgin rack....original sticker unharmed.

very cursory rear shock test fit. top shock bushings are 10mm ID so I’ll probably need to cut, drill, tap, and use 10mm grade 5 bolts threaded into the shock bungs. I think grade 8 may be too brittle in single shear.

also considering undertaking the first three steps, but then using a shouldered bolt put in from the back side, then using a slim nylock nut + fender washer to recreate a setup similar to factory. thoughts?

Turning in a Cold One
So this will be the last swing arm refresh in a while as I will have one all ready on the shelf after I paint this tomorrow.
Install one side at a time. Still amazed at the amount of pressure a screw thread can exert.

Stripped and removed the pistons from a Caliper I bought. Air wouldn’t shift them, so the old grease gun was employed. It is messy, it is effective though.

I checked the spokes; they’re all good. The bushings def have a little play in them, maybe a mil, but they’ve been that way the whole time I’ve owned the bike. I think it’s likely the combination of the buckhorns AND the new neck bearings. I hadn’t really ripped around at all right after replacing them, and then I swapped to the short black bars, which had me low and forward on the bike when I was speeding around. Now that I’m back upright with the buckhorns, I think what I’m feeling that I hadn't last summer is the front end being super tight and responsive; it always had some slack in it with the original loose balls.
