So I picked up this ignition module off a 90s chevy truck and before I found a diagram for the ignition system for the truck I was wondering how you would figure out what wire goes where? On the module I pulled off an isuzu truck it was labeled "+" "-" "bat" "coil". On this one its just labeled A B C D.

What confuses me is tachometer signal and ignition timing signal. I dont understand how it functions?? It is wired to the vehicule control module. To me it looks like it will get power and ground and then get signal from control module and tell tachometer signal to fire? I dont know....

Yeah, I'm pretty confused too. It wasn't designed for what I'm trying to use it for but it would be nice to know if this can be used and in the future, know how to test them.

I'll report back if I find anything.

Well, I'm trying to see if I can use this module as a replacement for the existing module on my bike. It's more of an experiment really as an alternative to the common GM HEI 4 pin module used. I'm kind of just trying to expand my knowledge seeing as my electronics professor at college kinda skipped out on telling things more useful than how a tailgate opens and closes electronically lol.
