Downtown New Hudsonville. You can see where houses were if you look closely.

My guide. He has quite a Honda collection.

gggGary posted a pic of of his yellow bike earlier today. Well it made mine jealous. She wanted to go for a ride.
So I took her on a 40 smile ride. I stopped 5 blocks from my house and took this pic. I know we are supposed to keep politics out of posts so I am not go post whose boyhood home it was in the background.

Well, since I used to visit my Grandmother when she lived in Dixon, I knew it was Ronny. In fact I've stood where you took that pic. :D

Well, since I used to visit my Grandmother when she lived in Dixon
Small world.
Did she live close to his house, if so my girlfriend might have known her. She grew up a few blocks from his house.
You ever go to Dement Town?

Did she live close to his house
As I recall, we had to drive to get there. She moved away in the 90's so any knowledge I have of the place is very fuzzy. About all I recall is where your pics were taken and the park by the river (Rock?) where the big indian statue is.

the park by the river (Rock?) where the big indian statue is.
It's the Rock River. The statue you referred to is along the river outside of Oregon 10 or so miles NE of Dixon. It's a 50 foot statue of Chief Blackhawk. I'll have to ride there and get a pic of it if the scaffolding is down. It's being renovated.

Early Utopian Settlement
Prior to Emancipation, this site welcomed escaped and freed slaves from America.
Despite its noble beginnings, the result of the war between the states meant that a foreign haven was no longer that important and the settlement never accomplished its early goals. However, a substantial contingent of the original settlers' descendants still call this area home.

Just a few days ago our temps were 108-109, winds yesterday blew in some lower temperatures. At 8:00 am this morning it was only 80 degrees. I decided to go out and ride a big old 50 mile loop around my house.
Setting out,

Does anyone else have this plant where they live? It’s a desert bird of paradise, this plant looks so fern like and delicate, yet it thrives in our desert heat and doesn’t take much water. It doesn’t even really start growing until it is really hot. They are all over where I live.

Went for a ride today with friends, about 75 miles. Up towards North Hampton then out towards the Berkshires. Tried to visit Nightville Dam but the access road was closed. Didn't notice any barns along the way so I took pictures in front of my shed...

Thanks, I don’t really know much about the plant , other than it’s common name. As for the photos, they were all taken with my IPhone 8 , it has some very nice photo editing software built in. I have a lot of fun with it.
