It really is something else isn’t it? I have lived through some strange days in this country, but what’s going on now seems almost surreal, in a bad way. In the 60’s we had race riots in the South, in the 70’s we had Nixon in the White House and anti war , anti government protests in the street. It seems at times like we are just doomed to keep re living the worst parts of our past.

“People movin' out, people movin' in.
Why, because of the color of their skin.
Run, run, run, but you sho' can't hide
An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth.
Vote for me and I'll set you free
Rap on, brother, rap on.
Well, the only person talkin' 'bout love thy brother is the preacher
And it seems nobody's interested in learning but the teacher
Segregation, determination, demonstration, integration, aggravation,
humiliation, obligation to our nation
Ball Of Confusion that's what the world is today (yeah, yeah)
The sale of pills is at an all time high
young folks walkin' 'round with their heads in the sky
Cities aflame in the summer time, and oh the beat goes on
Eve of destruction, tax deduction,
City inspectors, bill collectors,
Evolution, revolution, gun control, the sound of soul,
Shootin' rockets to the moon, kids growin' up too soon
Politicians say more taxes will solve ev'rything, and the band played on.
Round and round and around we go, where the world's headed nobody knows.
Great googa mooga, can't you hear me talkin' to you, just a
Ball of Confusion that's what the world is today. (yeah, yeah)
Fear in the air, tension ev'rywhere
Unemployment rising fast, the Beatle's new record's a gas,
and the only safe place to live is on an Indian reservation,
and the band played on
Eve of destruction, tax deduction,
City inspectors, bill collectors, mod clothes in demand,
population out of hand, suicide too many bills, hippies movin' to the hills
People all over the world are shouting end the war and the band played on.
Round and round and around we go, where the world's headed nobody knows.
Great googa mooga, can't you hear me talkin' to you, just a
Ball of Confusion that's what the world is today
Let me hear you, let me hear you, let me hear you
Ball Of Confusion that's what the world is today.”

It makes me wonder if NASA simply overdesigned the hell out of them for safety, or what?

I used to be an SF fan and there was an expectation that without a space suit the body would just explode. I remember that there was a short story based on this scenario to "de-bunk" the idea. Basically, the premise was that although a body would not enjoy the experience, in short term, there would be no explosion of the body or boiling of the bodily fluids (we're talking a few seconds here).

The plot involved two astronauts trapped and having to get from one pod to another without a space suit. It will have been Asimov or Arthur C. Clark.

Should be mentioned that spacex blew up a rocket yesterday.

Holy Cow! I just went to watch video of that explosion. It was a different type of rocket that blew up but that can’t be confidence inspiring if you’re the astronauts sitting atop that missile today! :yikes:

Approx 15 minutes after launch it passed over Wales UK but the sky was too light to see. It was easily seen when it made its next crossing at approximately 10.10pm local time. The sky was deep blue (twilight) with no clouds and the crossing took about 10 minutes. I remember back in the 70's, maybe 74 or 75, while at boarding school in Hamilton New Zealand we were all allowed to go out one night to see Skylab cross over.

I’ve been watching the SpaceX live feed on YouTube all morning. It was mesmerizing watching the a Dragon Capsule doing that slow motion approach to the space station for docking. They are now just moments away from entering the space station. Great quality video feed from space.
