I'm Throwing in the towel...

Jim and Gary ,I'm gonna keep this simple and civil as I'm sick and tired of 650trader trolling accusing me of making false accusations regarding
MIkesXS substandard engine products. I know exactly what I'm talking about as I've seen these engine failures first hand and I know
when they occurred and when I began warning members of these defective parts, some people needs to fact check themselves what they preach before accusing someone of giving false information. There has never been any guessing on my behalf, just stating the facts or bashing a product.
Unlike 650trader,they are members on this forum with far more talent, experience and are far more knowledgeable when it comes to wrenching on
the XS650,so with that said please delete my account as I'm done with the forum.

I also think that would be a shame for you to leave Jack. You’re a good guy and and a valuable contributor to this forum. I’ve always appreciated your experienced voice. Hang in there brother.

There are recalls on products all the time when there are bad batches made. We just had to check our fleet of Helicopter engines at work due to a few bad batches. Does it make the product bad? No not necessarily, but if it was me I would hold off on buying a set of the valves that have recently had issues. It would be beneficial if we knew what what was the cause of the valve failure. Was it the keepers that actually stripped out? Once again not saying mikes sells bad products because I have never had a problem with anything they have sold me, but when it comes to engine parts I do take the advice of the members who have years of experience with the XS650.

So you decided I was talking about you. I was responding to Grizld but if the shoe
fits _ Also if you actually read my post before blowing your stack you will see I
am saying to identify the makers and separate the old from the new instead of lumping
everything together. Comments about Saint Jerry etc. shows how ignorant you guys
really are. Accomplishments and technical innovation in motorcycling did not come from
these shores. It's time you sold your XS and joined the HD made in America crowd.

@650trader , you came into this forum with a chip on your shoulder... making racist comments. I called you on one and Dick called you on the other. Not the grand entrance expected of someone who want to be taken seriously. In the few years I've been here I've followed the advice of Dick and Jack and found them to be very knowledgeable. They ain't steered me wrong yet.
Compare their knowledge to a comment you made a day or so ago where you claimed, matter of fact that.... "Yamaha built the 650 without a crank oil dam so the screen gets the full force of the pulsing oil whipping off the crank and this force eventually breaks the screen." Link. Since the filters tear out (sucks in actually) from the back, that assertion is ludicrous on it's face. Don't get me wrong, I've made false statement here as well. I've always owned 'em and corrected myself. You never said a word of correction.

Jack and Dick have earned their respect here. Perhaps you should consider earning yours instead of constantly attacking others.

Jack, your thread on porting is one valuable piece of experience. Stick around and give us more.

So you also don't actually read the posts either. I still think the damage is caused by pulses.
The newer Fuji filter is still an improvement over the OEM original and I rest my case on the
unproven Big power increase that Jack has asserted. At least Every item built by Heiden has
been extensively tested on the Dyno by Heiden without any financial assistance from anyone.
If you don't have real facts then don't assert them. Jack and Grizld should go together to make
650 parts and we will see how long they last. Striving to get parts back 20 years ago when
almost nothing was available from the OEM or aftermarket was our driving force. Personally
back in the mid 90's I was charged $8.75 for an O-ring the size of a quarter ( I had to order this
common item ) set me on the road to keep the XS alive. Joseph
If you think suppliers who think ONLY of profit is the way to go then go that way. I once had a
Jewish Fiancee and she was the one who warned me as she said she had many relatives who
thought only of money and would do anything to get it. We never married as her family made such
a fuss because I was not one of them and my girlfriend was going to a Baptist church.

Just for posterity.

Deep breath,
Exhale.
Perhaps take a walk with your wife in the neighborhood and say hello to those next door.
Focus on that which is most important (IMHO),
that we have a healthy, active forum in which a great exchange of ideas occurs.

Well, when you figure out how a pulse from the front, tears the back inward, towards the front... all the while leaving the front intact... be sure and share that wisdom with us.

Stereotype much?

Just the facts ! I can drop away if you want only fantasy.
I am telling you only what I know, unvarnished, proven and the truth.
Actually I know very much more but have kept sources confidential
as Most do not want a debate with the retail world who they have supplied
many millons of parts to. Bob Bertaut, Shell Thuet, Tony Hall ( Halco ) and
many other XS speciaists world wide have asked me to help them and I did.
Sometimes they educated me but I also enlightened them.

Are the early "baseball bat" mufflers still the same? I just put on a MikesXS set I've had for 6? 7? years and want more sets, hoping they are still the same quality.

Its gonna happen, human nature.........Best solution is for the mod ( come on gggGary), to move the later part of the thread to the lounge and let them get it out of their system............Saves the thread and gives you guys who are clashing to either sort yourselves out, blow out and get the mods involved, or take your toys and leave the sand pit...........if you leave the sand pit ask your self if it is spite, or a genuine reason when making a statement, "close my account", because to me if your going to do it just do it, if not don't............putting it out there is a cry for attention, creates sides and division.

This has to be most hilarious response coming from someone who got his rocks off trolling member "Peanut" by constantly throwing logs on the fire
after being absent for some two months, that finally drove the nail in the coffen and drove him away, you just couldn't let it go. "Crying for attention"
you're so blindsided by your own past childish behavior that you just don't get it.

It'll be sad if you leave Jack. I've been following the D port thread with great interest. I know enough about porting to clean up casting flash and sharp edges, but that's about it.

Beyond that, I have gotten parts from various suppliers over the years. Some good, some bad, some so so. I will say rubber from Mike's has been crap. I had to get a couple bearings as no one else had them, but they seem fine. At this point I'm glad I cleaned up and ran the stock valves. It is terribly disappointing when a fairly new engine build fails.

I wasn't looking to start a garage brawl. I am moving on. I loved my time here and my bike. I have learned a ton and I am sure I have entertained a few along the way. I also know that some cobwebs were cleared during some of my more challenging times. My parts will go to good "homes". And my new bike will be reliable and sound. I love the thrill of wrenching and problem solving and getting on the road. It's the Hail Marys about getting home that I really can't handle anymore. Thanks to all who have responded to my posts in the past. This is an amazing community and it needs to stay alive just as we/you are determined to keep our wonderful XSesses alive. Grace and Peace, All!

NorazDad.......No dramas........sometimes things are just wrong........Any vehicle can be just that, one thing after the other where it comes to a point that interest is lost. Once that has happened then it's probably better to move on......... buy a new RE and pretend you on an XS650 with none of the brake-down anxiety.
