Trippin' in Commando mode

Mailman's been busy dropping off goodies. Today was reseal the primary case day. Got er done, found a wire grommet missing, installed one and new perimeter o-ring, replacement was a bit short but patched in a little of the old up at the top. So TEST RIDE! 210 miles later, think primary is oil tight, have to fix an exhaust valve cover leak and she'll be pretty well house trained.

Did CafePhil like your new bike?

Oh Yeah

He's got the disease too.
The MGB is done, we took her out for a spin.

That is a beauty.
I find that stay very distracting, would have been better to bend the stay OUT, pass over the caliper? :twocents:

Thinking I'll be ordering new carbs. Been through them twice, they need parts and are aren't an exact matched set, there are Amal Premier carbs available now s'posed to be better. But look stock.$$$$ but of course. actually at 400ish not that expensive.
Beginning to think I bought a picture of a Norton, and have to replace or refurbish the whole bike, one part at a time till it's "as it should be"
put air in the "low" LH cylinder, intake valve is the leak. Did a meatball mechanic valve face, seat scrub with a brass brush, gained 10 PSI up to little over 130 cold. wrenching to riding time ratio prolly 4 to 1 mebbie higher. Not likely to change for a while. Taking Allison to Madison on the beemer in a bit. (Blood donations)

I recall buying two brand new Amal’s for my Triumph being cheaper than buying just rebuild kits for my BMW!!
I think it’s cool that you can still buy new factory Amal carbs.

And so it goes.....

“This, milord, is my family's axe. We have owned it for almost nine hundred years, see. Of course, sometimes it needed a new blade. And sometimes it has required a new handle, new designs on the metalwork, a little refreshing of the ornamentation . . . but is this not the nine hundred-year-old axe of my family? And because it has changed gently over time, it is still a pretty good axe, y'know. Pretty good.”

Thinks 4 the carb links guyz, I'll check em out!
No problem. It is fun to spend other guys money.
When I was getting parts for my XS2 most of the small stuff was $20 here $30 thirty there. The Triumph is $50 here hang onto your shorts there. It is worth it though. Brit bikes are the coolest bikes ever made. They have a character all their own. As much as I like my XS2 what you have is the essence of a motor cycle. No frills with plenty of thrills. The Japs tried to emulate them and couldn't. So they decided to build a better bike.
