Also (on another note) you mentioned that the other bike was a 4N9-000101 to 030000.... My bike is a 4N9-000### but its listed as an 80?

After looking at the pics.........POS.......

Any year Yamaha XS650 is classed as the year the production run finished........Production run is from Aug to july.......So a bike made in Sep 80 is an 81...Jan 81 is an 81......Oct 77 is a 78.........nov 76 is a 77.......

That`s what I thought. I`ve got ads on CL to buy a Special donor bike with a title and can`t find anything. I don`t and never will do Facebook so I`m probably missing the boat?

The last 3 bikes I've bought were on FB marketplace. I find it more relaxing because facebook knows to certain extent who the seller is. CL not so much.
Agreed. I've done some deals on FB Marketplace recently without any issue at all, including somebody looking for a roommate when I relocated here. I never had a negative issue. Yes, you can see to some extent, who you're dealing with. I'm not a huge fan of Big Brother, but it has some advantages.

I just posted my '88 Honda NT650 on CL Denver...charged me $5. Cars get the same charge, nothing else though.
