Toddling across Iowa

So it turns out my plug wires were routed a bit tight, when we'd slow down brake and clutch my hands werw getting high voltage zaps. Thats entertaining!
Makes you look forward to down shifting especially when you know it's coming :yikes:

Safe and sound back in the barn.
All in all great weekend.
Toddling with Gary is like trying to jog with Carl Lewis. If you can keep him in sight you are doing good.
Along with the rain he forgot to mention the swarms of vicious butterfly's he would stir up. They would miss him and zero in on me. Those things hit as hard as a June bug.

Your escapade was entertaining.
Why not regard this as Episode 1 of a long series?

Yupper! Only casualty was the LH side cover on the 74 riding on the front bumper, disappeared. Getting ready to head to the UP for a 3-4 day camping trip on the "big bikes" this morning. The original plan was a Lake Superior Circle Tour but Pete won't let us in!

Hi Gary,
IMe and my shiny new XS650 circumferenced Lake Superior back in the day.
Ronnie Raygun came on TV and raised the speed limit from 55 to 65.
Going a steady 65 when a cop with a handgun big enough to have wheels on it pulled me over for speeding.
WTF? Where were you when the President.raised the limit?
Only on interstates. this is NOT an interstate.
Of course it is, it goes to another country!
Despite my argument I had to pay a $50 fine which also jacked up my Manitoba insurance premiums for the next 3 years,
Some years later I was driving up that road again. Big effin' sign saying "This is NOT an interstate the speed limit is 55 mph"
Guess I was only among the first of the contributors to the State Treasury..

After one last campfire,

and sunset,

we all headed home this morning. First 20 miles were very hilly, curvy, PAVED National Forest roads, an excellent way to start the day.
Old friends together for a motorcycle camping trip. Highly recommended.
Got home mowed the very long lawn and now we gotta put up two racks of hay.
Welcome home honey.

PS the Venture now has nearly 2,000 miles on it since I woke it up with Zero issues. :geek:
Very comfy ride, I'd take it cross country in a heartbeat.

Now it makes sense..i know i have seen JRP before..He's an ST1300 owner..he knows some mutual friends I know from my years at ST-Owmers forums... A good mutual friend that lived in NJ and worked for Honda..Who moved out to California now...They both were employed by Honda..I believe...his initials are RB and in NJ he hosted annually NJ tech days at his home with his Garage Mahal..for fellow ST Owners...myself included...RB trained all the service technicians for Honda and Acura at the training facility in Mt. Laurel NJ...
Sounds like that Venture Royale is a keeper...
