Interceptors have a strong following for sure. And being somewhat reliable as long as they are not neglected, I think you've got a great bike there...

The engine has a ticking noise due to the coating on the exhaust cam lobe wearing off..it makes a bit of noise but the bike runs very well...I'm not into engine repairs but talking with the seller it might be possible that he would do the work..but then i would expect the price to go up...

That’s a great bike! I’m not sure my mechanical skills are up to working on that motor, but a great bike none the less.

Yeah..it can be a handful...I'm not totally convinced from a mechanical point of view that this would be as good a fit as is my ST1100 V4..There were issues with these bikes..moreso with the 750s than the 1100s...But I'm learning more about these bikes..so that i dont fall into that trap again..you know..falling for something that looks great but mechanically i would be in over my head...sounds familiar..eh?

Well the seller has another Interceptor ..same year in pristine conditon..No issues at all 16k original miles...repainted..new graphics...looks exactly like the one pictured here..I have first choice..but the 16K bike is a bit more $$$...By the time i would be done with the ticking bike i would be close to what he is asking for the low mileage one...Gotta trek up to NJ to get it...but I'm opting for the 16K miles bike..Only needs new tires....:D

Hi Max,
be careful, those things go faster than shit off a shovel. Be sure that it's in good shape because they are also right swines to work on.
