in 2012 I sold my 1977 xs for a pretty nice price.
It was my fifth restoration of XS650s, now up to #8
The guy didn't ride it more than 30 miles, or should i say couldn't, otherwise he would lose his disability payments. Did a wonderful job of storing 'Er.
His grandson contacted me and said i could have it for $1500...
Bought it back and it rides as good as it did 8 years ago, almost seems better.
I love it and it will be a keeper this time.

Cool story Martin - thanks for sharing!

I once sold a Suzuki Bandit 1200 to the boyfriend of a girl I worked with. A company Director no less. A year maybe eighteen months later, their relationship ended and he decided to move out. With his future accommodation in doubt, he also decided he didn't need a bike in his life right then. So he asked her to ask me if I would buy the Bandit back. Upshot was, the Bandit came back into my life having been well looked-after, not many miles added, given a professional service, with a new back tyre and for £500 less than he had paid me. Result.
