Zall the turd gets polished.

So wheel dolled up a bit made the swing arm look terrible, it's a rust pile and well, yah just gotta do swing arm bushes, am I right?
After the struggle getting the axle out I was prepared to do battle. While on the phone with Kop was able to remove the swing arm bingo bango, nothing was stuck! Woot woot! Using my old bushing removal tool that's done prolly ten arms so far knocked out the old bushings, cleaned out the grease, sanded the bores and knocked in the TC bushes with a wood block and hammer zim zam. A shout out for TC bros. swing arm bushings! They were a perfect fit in the bores, snug but didn't need to hammer on them to get them seated. A quick flap wheel derust of the arm, and the first coat of high build spray enamel paint is drying in the sun.

Hafda see some progress. Im rude m crude blue dico wheel duplicolor high build enamel brushed on, fore

[begin drift] Gary, what mill is that you have in the background? Looks like just the size I'm looking for to fit in my garage. [/drift]

Good looking turd, BTW...

I had to go back to the first post, I didn’t realize at first , it’s wearing new tins, new seat, and did it originally have a front fender? Man it would’ve taken me a year to get as far along as you are! What year is that bike anyways?

By birth a 77, but I'm scavenging the bins and rafters, tins and seat are 79, front fender is from a special. "a guy" has a rather complete set of 77 removed when chopped stuff in bountiful blue. but so far have resisted his rather high price, not least cuz I don't trust the pics of the part's condition..

It'll always be a turd but some of the brown is rubbing off.
My daily rider looks worse I guess a turds a turd
Looking good
now what
time to sell?

Hoping to ride it to slimy crud october 4th. Will prolly list it for sale but don't expect much action at a price that covers the parts and labor I've stuck in it.
Rode WJL 'round the country lanes tonight.

Some would say we've both been put out to pasture.

Today is the forecast end of nice weather.
Had to do some canning first.
tomatoes.jpg 19 quarts of tomatos
Then back to the garage.

almost 100% on the rebuilds gotta replace one selector's perimeter o-ring yet.Only new parts I used were the 5 hole rubber "valves"
Then off the lift and rode 30+ miles, afraid to say it but running, riding great.
I really gotta stick this in the shed, I got other projects need doing.
Just one more little thing? then i'll stop, really.

The AllBalls steering bearings are here. Though I don't notice anything bad in the steering.

That is a great save on a bike that had one foot in the salvage heap! Really amazing, well done! Hey just curious, does your wife work for the fire department? ( I saw her t-shirt )
