Post a Photo of your Dog

Came across this stately old barn dated 1895 on a narrow country road a few miles east of the tiny hamlet of Bovina, Central Catskills region
on my travels last week. Interesting how much work the original builders put into the intricate windows in the cupola.

The Orange Peril and I pass through this farm quite often - the buildings stand both sides of the main road. Well, the B6460 which counts as a main road in this part of the world. One of the many routes we take to go to Berwick-on-Tweed.

Seems to be a fairly big farm but a collection of buildings like this is typical of many in the Borders, especially Berwickshire in the eastern part of the region.

Oh man, that’s not even fair! What are there? Like fifteen barns right there? How the heck are we supposed to compete with that! :p Nice photos Raymond. ;)

That is a really interesting old barn. I like the way it’s built on multiple levels following the terrain. I agree the coppola is pretty cool on that one. Do you like your old barns raw and crusty or well kept and painted? Nice pics Jeff!

A crusty patina is my favorite, cuz it conveys the age, history , nostalgia.

I could tell this one wasn't being used much, as it had no particular smell. :)

Obviously, the termites aren't there to do their job. Down here, whatever the Yankees didn't destroy, the termites did.

Well I've been hoping to get a very "off topic" picture for this thread ever since it started and finally found out why I have not had any luck today and it cost me $15.00!

You see there has been until earlier this year a DeLorean parked in front of barber shop just a couple miles from my house. I thought it might make a good back drop for a picture of the 1982 XS650.

Well this afternoon decided to find out why it has not been there for several months. Barber who owns it tells me he has in in his shop doing some repair work on it and somewhat due to his shop being closed for a few months funds were a bit restricted. Also he was telling me that to get to ignition components he had to remove a bunch of stuff off the top of the motor. He thinks he might get it back together this fall or maybe next spring!

And why did this information cost me $15.00? Well I did need a hair cut! Neat little country barber shop with pool table and wide screen TV playing Goldfinger in the waiting room.

Well Ken, I applaud you for your extraterrestrial pursuits.
Old Barn to Delorean is quite a stretch, but an interesting one, as this pandemic demands that we be creative :)
If you really want to get a pic of your '82 with a Delorean, you need not travel far:
A guy in Marcellus, maybe 10 miles from you has one.
He lives on South Street, just a 1/4 mile north from Nightengale's Hardware.
Parks it out front of his house, sometimes has a cover on it.

$15 for a haircut?? Divine Madness in Nedrow on Rt. 11 charges $7 for a men's cut.

As a kid, I loved Halloween for some reason I can't remember.
This is me at age 5:

We lived in the city, so after an hour of trick or treating, the pillowcase was chock full of goodies.

I lost interest in the holiday in 1963 at age 9 when we moved to the suburbs.

...But today, I came upon a Halloween display that made me hit the brakes really hard.
I was in Owego in the Southern Tier of NY, at the border of Pennsylvania.

Its amazing how much effort some folks put into these creations;
this was just one small part of a skeletal extravaganza at an old barn:

Anyone else come upon a motorbike oriented display?
