Zall the turd gets polished.

That is a great save on a bike that had one foot in the salvage heap! Really amazing, well done! Hey just curious, does your wife work for the fire department? ( I saw her t-shirt )
She was PD before she retired earlier this year, the shirt's from a charity 5K run.

It is possible to install vac nipples in those manifolds without them. That's what I had to do when I replaced the ones on my '78. I couldn't find any with the vac nipples so got the "plain" ones. Then I pulled the nipples out of the old manifolds, drilled (tight fitting) holes in the new ones, and tapped them in, coated with Yamabond. One of the reasons I replaced my originals, besides the obvious cracking all over them, was because one of the vac nipples came loose and pulled right out when I tried to pull the vacuum line off it. That's what gave me the idea of transferring them to the new manifolds. All I had to do was break the other one loose and "work" it out. So, never throw away old manifolds with the vac nipples without pulling those nipples out first for future use.

.................never throw away old ..........
Y'all must be speaking some foreign lankwitch. What does this "throw away" mean?
I think a metric 90 zerk is going to sacrifice it's life for the greater good....
PS Tytronic ignition is working great, one kick or a nudge on the electric boot vroom. Steady smooth running at all RPM. Still using the original coils, wires, boots. One spark plug got garbage canned when it didn't light the cylinder even after a propane torch job, different plug and all is good.

Great work as always, Gary. Never found a snake in a bike, but a couple years ago I bought an old GL1100 with a small section of fried wiring under the tank cover. Must have looked at it a half dozen times before ... wait a minute ... that's not wiring, that's a lizard that stowed away. Was going to wash it off, instead decided to leave him there to continue his travels, and maybe surprise the next owner.

not likely, but yah never know....:pimp:
Think that'd pay me about $5 an hour.
OR as they say around here more than I'm worth.:poke:

While I've saved a bunch of ugly ole' MC's this one had a drip at the handle after I cleaned it. Stripped it back down, and even after working the bore some more with 400 grit on a mandrel in the lathe, there were rough spots. Tossed it and now it's wearing a nice 11mm MC from "some dirt Yammie". Long as I've gone that far it'll get an FZ rotor, while I have the wheel off for new steering bearings, then...
Had to pull the footpeg, brake, and kick lever to clean up that cover a bit, now I'm thinking pull the cover, squeeze the starter spring, long as cover's off and there are lots of alto plates and some stiff clutch springs on the shelf........ Sheesh it's endless. .

It’s a slippery slope isn’t it?

Oh, those '78-'79 tank emblems are a rare bird. I looked for years before I found one on eBay reasonably priced (well, sorta, lol).
