So I've been trying to find a good LED for the taillight/brake light on my 75 and after trying a cheap Amazon bulb and then way too much research I have settled on the Sylvania ZEVO. It's nice because it actually uses separate LED chips for running vs brake. I found with the cheap bulbs they just use all the chips at different intensities. I got all sorts of issues with flickering and the the difference between running vs brake was not significant enough for me. With the ZEVO

so far I have no flickering, the running light is probably as bright as the old brake light and the brake light is almost painful to look at. Hope this helps anyone who might be thinking about LEDs

Thanks for that!
I put some LEDs in turn signals for WJL they have two separate red circuits in the back, white and amber in the front, but in the rush to toddle across Iowa I found problems with how the two circuits interacted and just ran them as simple turn signals. Bright and easily visible even in sunshine I checked and other riders had no trouble seeing them.

These are repro stock early style turn signals, I removed the bulb holders, cut and glued some foam blocks to fit behind the LEDs, cut up some yogurt cups as spacers/holders so the lense keeps them in place. I'll get back to trying to get the rear brake and front running light circuits to function.

I found with the first LED bulbs I tried that worked on resistance the big swing in voltage from idle to higher RPMs really messed with them. How does the red look through the amber lenses? I'm working on blinkers right now but I have much smaller aftermarket lenses to work behind.

This bike has an 1157 white LED tail/brake light also.
Messed around some more with the turn signal dual elements that should allow them to act as brake AND turn signals in the rear running and turn in the front. I think the issue is in the LED turn signal can I bought. Will spend some time getting to the bottom of that later. May try a diode perhaps the can doesn't like getting 12 volts back fed into it. :umm:

I use the same led bulb for my taillight but had to sand a little of the plastic off to get it to fit in my taillight fixture on my 80’. I use the led bulb in the link below with my headlight but had to grind off some of the metal to get it to fit in the hole of the headlight assembly. Also forgot the part number for the led in my turn signal but they are common at your auto parts store.
