Sci Fi

Star Wars, a little Star Trek, and yes. Anything sci-fi. One of my favorite things to do is draw, paint, sketch-up, etc. any type of scenery that has never existed. Like being on a cliff on an alien world and looking at the land scape. I was doing this since before the "Rick and Morty" TV series, but love and envy the creativity so much haha. Saving up for an airbrush kit if I can find one so I can paint a couple sci-fi sceneries I've drawn on my gas tank. :D

how did "the dome" ever turn out? best i can figure they cancelled the series and left them stuck there?

Yesterday I stumbled upon an episode from the second series of Quanderhorn .... BBC Radio 4. I've just started listening from the beginning of the first series. Bloody good fun - Here's the description from the Beeb:

England 1952. A time of peace, regeneration and hope. A Golden Age. Unfortunately, it's been 1952 for the past 65 years. Meet Professor Quanderhorn (James Fleet), a maverick scientific genius with absolutely no moral compass. Assisted by a rag-tag crew - his part insect son (Freddie Fox), reputedly a "major breakthrough in Artificial Stupidity"; a recovering amnesiac (Ryan Sampson); a brilliant scientist with a half-clockwork brain (Cassie Layton); a captured Martian hostage (Kevin Eldon) and a sinister factotum (John Sessions). He'll save the world. Even if he has to destroy it in the process. With his Dangerous Giant Space Laser, High Rise Farm, Utterly Untested Matter Transfuser Booth and Fleets of Monkey-driven Lorries, he's not afraid to push the boundaries of science to their very limit. And far, far beyond. But his arch nemesis, Prime Minister Winston Churchill, has plans to put a stop to his Infernal Xperimentations once and for all. It's an Adventure beyond human understanding in Super-Vis-O-Sound. Will our Crew of Brave Boffins survive? Tune in next week - if there is such a thing -for the next thrilling instalment. An Absolutely production for BBC Radio 4.

Hours of good listening await!

I detest most of the BBC's efforts at sci-fi, with the notable exception of Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I listened to the first radio series as it was broadcast and was hooked. The first film version of it was utterly dreadful, but the second attempt was more tolerable.

The book was excellent.

Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
I cheated on that book, wife had bought or maybe it was borrowed a copy on cassettes, those were the days, anyhow I took the set along on a drive to Toronto where I was attending the winter bike show.

Not sure it it was a good thing or not because that four hour drive was the shortest four hours I ever drove. I just hope I didn't run anyone off the road while flying around the galaxies. All I know for sure I was not as tired when I got there like I usually would be after a long drive.
