Hi there,
I'm trying to get this old lady back to "original". Most is here and i have had the bike running too.
It came with aftermarket handlebar and no RH handlebar switch, thus starter / kill switch / and head light switch were disconnected.
I have had front / rear wheel / front fork and rear swing arm off added new bearings and seals.
Got an aftermarket RH switch - had head lamp of for adding new rubber dampers and grommet where the wires enter the headlamp.
However i found this unconnected plug under the tank and can't make sense of what it should connect to.
looking at the colors of the five wires
red/white
black
orange
brown
and green/red or maybe blue/brown

I can somehow determine that
red/white may have to do with stop switch / starter relay/coils and safety relay
Black - ground
Brown - live wire - which connect throughout the bikes to positive pole/power
orange - ?? diagram show only one orange wire which is related to coils via contact breaker
green/red - doesn't exist on the wire diagram - closest blue /brown - in which case i'm guessing brake lining switch.

on a separate wire harness i have acquired i found a similar appendix with a connector like the one shown on the two pictures below, however this had some different colors and was connected to the "relay" shown in the other two pictures (5wires - connect to 6 wires and into the relay) Am i totally missing a relay ? and is that what's referred to as a safety relay ?
anyone able to help
thank you
Niels

That plug is a known anomaly. All 75’s have it, but nothing plugs into it. There are theories that it was a shared harness with other models but I’ve never found a known reason for it. If you figure it out there are many others that would be happy to know too.

good to know - thanks for the reply - I feel less stupid now :) I had one of these in 1976 (but it was new then and i never took anything apart that worked then) must admit i was a little confused finding this plug :)

My 74TXA has that plug as well............My suspicion is it is for a speed warning light...........Japanese models have a speed warning light on the dash in the gauge cluster..........Just a hunch
